It's good, but it's pricey. I guess everything is pricey in this day & age.. my wife had the ribs, I had brisket, we each had a salad & a beer, & it was 80 bucks with tip. That said, salads were good, both the cucumber & the coleslaw. The ribs were excellent, the brisket was well done. The beer is the star here though. I really appreciate in- house beer. It's a real indication of the quality of food to be had. This one applies; a great offering..
Absolutely outstanding. This is hands down one of the best BBQ spots I've been to.
I had the burnt end brisket platter, the aylwinator cheeseburger, & the pulled pork sandwich, & every single item was phenomenal. The brisket was incredibly juicy, tender, & packed with smoky flavour. The burger was cooked perfectly, the bun was fresh & unbelievably soft, & every bite was excellent. The pulled pork was just as impressive-moist, flavourful, & perfectly balanced.
You can tell they take pride in everything they serve. The quality of the meat, the execution, & the attention to detail were top-notch from start to finish.
If you're looking for authentic barbecue, this place is an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be back.
Went on a Sunday at around noon & got their breakfast sandwich (with sausage) & an iced latte. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of their iced latte - the espresso was good, the ratio was just right!
The breakfast sandwich comes with egg, tomato, lettuce, an adobo sauce, & cheese + an add on for their sausage patty. The sandwich itself was great, but the sausage patty didn't add much more to it, in my opinion. I'd get it again without the patty & spend my money on trying their hash browns instead.
Amazing service! The man at the counter (maybe an owner?) was super warm & friendly & explained to me exactly what was in the sandwich.
Would recommend & will be coming back to try the other stuff on their menu!
I was so happy to see Alwyn's at Atwater Market. Having heard so much about it over the years, I knew I had to stop by.
I ordered the Alwynator burger, which was featured on their sandwich board, & it absolutely did not disappoint. At around $14, I'd say it's a solid value for the quality & portion. The burger was juicy, flavorful, & satisfying-the kind of comfort food that instantly puts a smile on your face specially when I was so hungry 😋
As I'm writing this review, though, I'm watching people mostly ordered & raved about the beef brisket sandwich… & now I'm seriously regretting my decision. 🥲 I should have known earlier & ordered both. The brisket looked incredible, & now I'm somehow hungry all over again.
Looks like I'll just have to come back-& honestly, that's not a bad problem to have. If you're at Atwater Market, Alwyn's is definitely worth checking out. Just learn from my mistake: order the brisket too. Sob sob.
Insanely good breakfast sandwiches devoured in the middle of the beautiful Atwater Market. Enjoyed pulled pork last year at their market take out stand too. Quality food created by awesome people. Thank you! Wishing you much success.
this place has an edible midas touch. everything is delicious, the ribs, the sausages, the slaws, the briskets, everything. it's no surprise that their smoked meat poutine is probably one of the best you can get anywhere. beautiful gravy, quality cheese curds, & best of all the juicy smoked meat with a bark to die for.
PS. food for thought, you should consider copying what dinette triple crown used to do (R.I.P.) & provide the option for picnic baskets to eat out by the canal!
Stopped by Aylwin Deli & had the brisket - it was really, really good. Tender, flavourful, & clearly made with care. You can tell they take pride in what they're serving.
It's a simple, no-nonsense spot with good vibes & quality food. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving something comforting & well done.
Could straight up be the best Reuben sandwich in Montreal.
Really high-quality ingredients, nice cut of meat, cool ambience, super friendly staff, & of course, the location can't be beat.
Considering the quality & service & the fact that they had five full grown men working there in the middle of the day, $20 after tax & tip for this sandwich was well worth it
Everything is cooked & prepared with exceptional care & attention to taste & quality. Some of the best food in the city hands down & extremely friendly staff.
Highly recommend, every single item on the menu is excellent.
