Beautiful light & airy croissants. & of course, the cake that they are known for...kouing-amann is very delicious & buttery & slightly sweet. All enjoyed with our Café au lait. There are only two tiny tables there so it's really mostly takeout.View more

Incredible amann pastry. It was my first time trying it, it's like a honey cruller on the inside, fluffy & buttery & a crispy outer layer like a croissant but with a thicker sweet coating wrapping around it.

One of my best friends is a proud Bretonne who went to McGill with me, & she did not hesitate, after a couple bites of kouign amann from this place, to declare that it was ('somehow') better than the best kouign amann in Bretagne. I am not breton but I trust her, & frankly, I'm not even slightly exaggerating when I say that having lived in Montréal for half a decade, Kouign Amann Bakery is the thing that brings me most to Le Plateau; it gets me out of the door on sad days (even if I don't end up going, it's the idea that revives my soul)-it truly is my favourite dessert/pastry/sweet in the entire city.
