Review Summary

Atelier Marjorie is widely recognized for its beautiful aesthetic and delicious, high-quality pastries that often exceed expectations. Many customers enjoy the bento cake decorating workshops as a fun and creative outing, frequently praising the tasty beverages and the professional, warm service provided during these sessions. However, the experience is not without its drawbacks, as visitors frequently note that the venue is extremely small and can become uncomfortably warm. Some guests have expressed frustration regarding the limited instruction during workshops, the perceived lack of value for the price point, and inconsistencies in service, ranging from very attentive to minimal. While custom cakes receive high acclaim for their taste and design, the overall atmosphere and space constraints suggest that while the concept is highly appealing, the experience can vary depending on the level of staff engagement and crowd size.

The store is very small (maybe fits 10 people max). There was only one table for the three of us, making the cake decorating very crowded. You're provided a few small piping bags to share (no piping tips) & some sprinkles, glitter, & plastic charms. We got tea, which came in a generous portion. The experience is what you make of it - if you have an inspo picture beforehand, you can definitely make something nice, but otherwise it's hard to control drawing with the frosting & decorations are limited. The cake itself wasn't great - I think it was premade & frozen, so the buttercream was hard to bite into. Overall not bad, but I would expect more from the price point.

Went there for a special occassion & did the Bento cake decorating. The place is really cute but extremely small & sweltering. We went on a day that wasn't even that hot outside so I can't even imagine what it must be like in the full blown heat. Hot to the point that our icing started to melt after we hit the hour mark of being there. The activity was fun, but it was basically here's your cakes & they didn't come back to see us at all in the two hours that we were there, & they weren't busy. No tips given on best techniques to paint with the icing, just here's your tools & cakes. That being said we had a really good time painting & figuring out the best ways to get designs going after some google research, the coffees we ordered were good as well though service was non existant.

★★★☆☆

The storefront & décor are beautiful & very Instagram-worthy, which is what initially attracted me to the experience. However, the cake decorating session felt more like a self-guided activity than a workshop. We were given cakes & icing but received no instruction or demonstration, & the icing was difficult to work with & didn't hold detail well.

I was also surprised by the contrast between the front of the shop & the rest of the building. The washroom is located in the back, & getting there felt like walking through an old, worn-down building, which didn't match the polished aesthetic of the main space.

Overall, it's a fun outing with friends, but I expected a higher-quality decorating experience.

Upon entering the establishment & greeting the staff with a simple'hi,' I was met with the comment,'Je n'aime pas les anglos qui ne font pas d'effort' ('I don't like Anglos who don't make an effort'). Given that this business is located in a high-traffic tourist zone, establishing a welcoming atmosphere should take priority over language preferences. A business is not an appropriate venue for language debates.

I tried 2 of their activities: the bento cake decoration & Canvas cake decoration & both experiences were delightful.

The people working there are always helpful & check in on you to make sure you are having a nice time.

They have a nice array of hot & cold drinks (special mention to the tiramisu latte!)

We were able to try a few of their pastries, I highly recommend the lemon trompe-l'oeil, it was delicious! Their pastry chef knows what she's doing!

The best gift for my daughter. I didn't expect too much, but it exceeded my expectations. The cake was absolutely delicious. The place is small, but we had enough space. All the sweets & tea we ordered were very delicious as well.

50$ for cake decorating. Cake is so small, only 1 piping tip/ person & only 1 color/person. It was rushed & we were 12 ppl in a tiny space. We could barely move.
Because we were sharing flavors, we ran out of some fillings.
Not worth it, do not go.
