Been close to a decade since I first wrote a 5 star review on TripAdvisor upon our first visit & this time I wanted to share it on Google. We visit this place annually (other than lockdown year) from out of town. A proper gluten free restaurant. Over these years since being introduced to Areparas we've tried other places to compare, in different cities & countries. We also noticed over the years some menu changed here, I really miss the Crackling Arepera but the Pork Belly is my replacement & amazing. The point of this updated review a decade later is after over the years trying different Arepara places hands down this place is our benchmark! Each time we return & I take my first bite, I am instantly transported back to the wonderful memories & feelings upon tasting the food here like the first time. I am reminded why they are our benchmark for their ingredient quality, taste, prep, portion, their 2 sauces & why we must continue to return to enjoy such great food at reasonable prices by this Arepera owner & the team. I really want as many people to experience it too!

The arepas here are stacked & they have a variety from meat lovers to seafood lovers to vegans! Options for everyone. I ordered the tilapia one & a guava drink. Both good. The guava drink was so refreshing, a bit too sweet, should've asked for less sugar, but it was still good. The arepa, while not the best I've ever had, was also good & filling for just CAD$14. Great deal! Service was attentive & pro. Place was clean & orderly. Feedback would be for spicier salsa option & crispier, more buttery arepa.
Une belle découverte pour les personnes coeliaque avec un menu 100% SANS GLUTEN! La serveuse était très serviable & a très bien pu nous conseiller. Les frites de manioc étaient excellente & la sauce à l'avocat qui vient avec les arepas a été notre gros coup de coeu
Hemos cenado hoy por las resenas que tiene. Buen local amplio y grande. Hemos pedido empanadas domino y palitos de yuca buenísimo. Después dos arepas la llanera ( A4 ) y la reina pepiada ( A10 ). Y de postre la torta de queso con plátano. Muy bueno todo lo recomiendo.
I love Arepera! I have been going to this place for a few years now & it never disappoints. Delicious Arepas, juice & fried yucca. Friendly staff & nice atmosphere.
Arepera has been one of my go-to restaurants for years. However, I feel so disappointed when they decreased their portion sizes. I ordered a pork belly arepa (my usual), & to my surprise, I felt like it SHRUNK by least 20% compared to what I normally get. I can't believe one of my favourite restaurants let me down. But who knows? Maybe I'm crazy & my hands actually got bigger. Maybe they just shrunk the pork belly arepa, or maybe they give smaller portions to takeout orders. I don't think I'll go again, sadly. I would've been happy if they kept the same portions but just increased the price instead of trying to trick customers.
We got the cassava sticks, guasacaca chicken plate, black beans & plantain arepa, & guasacaca arepa. The guasacaca sauce is really delicious & addictive! Really good portion sizes. The fried plantains were amazing! The air conditioning was so cold & perfect!!!
Delicious, crispy & tender arepas. Perfectly fried plantains. Added plus of gluten free empanadas that were highly delicious. Ooh & the cocktails & house-made juices were super yummy. Highly highly recommend for lovers of arepas & anyone avoiding gluten!
We came here during a group lunch at work & it was great. They have a lot of sandwich options (Arepas) to chose from, basically something for everyone. But that is basically all they do, nice to see a restaurant that knows their specialty & does it so well (there are also some plates to choose from). We were all very pleased with our choices & the prices are great as well. We were in a hurry, as you often are during a large work lunch, but this place was fast (we did all look at the menu in advance though & planned our orders). A very good option for a quick bite.
10/10 experience here, the food was INCREDIBLE the service was great, friendly waitress that knew the dishes very well & was able to give us perfect recommendations. We had 3 arepas split between the two of us & they were huge for the price! Amazing.
This place is an absolute delight! The music & musical decor are fun & exciting! The empanadas are delicious & served with both avocado & hot sauces! A delicious & delectable appetizer. I had the pulled pork arepa! It was wonderful with so many different flavors & textures! Everything is gluten free! You will be in heaven if you have celiac disease!
