Antonietta centers its culinary focus on the vibrant traditions of Italian cuisine by emphasizing the preparation of authentic handmade pasta and wood-fired oven specialties. The menu showcases a commitment to regional flavor profiles through the use of imported ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes, cured meats, and artisanal cheeses. Diners encounter a space defined by its rustic aesthetic, featuring exposed brick walls and an open layout that keeps the production of dough and searing of proteins in plain sight. This approach ensures that every plate reflects the foundational techniques of Mediterranean cooking without unnecessary embellishment. The selection of dishes highlights seasonal produce alongside protein-heavy staples, creating a structured balance of texture and heat. Consistency remains the primary objective as the kitchen maintains a rigorous standard for every classic recipe served within this lively environment.
Antonietta is widely celebrated as a culinary gem in Montreal, earning consistent praise for its exceptional pizza, which many diners consider to be among the best in the city. Guests frequently highlight the high quality of the dough, the freshness of the ingredients, and the variety of styles, including New York, Sicilian, and Neapolitan options. Beyond the pizza, the menu features standout dishes such as polenta fries, burrata, homemade pastas, and a highly acclaimed tiramisu, all prepared in a cozy, inviting, and authentic atmosphere. The restaurant is often described as having a warm, family-oriented vibe where the staff is dedicated to their craft, ensuring that patrons feel welcomed throughout their dining experience. Whether for a quick slice or a full meal, visitors appreciate the skillful balance of flavors and the evident passion behind the food, making it a neighborhood staple that encourages frequent return visits.
We absolutely loved this Italian gem 💎
It was recommended to me by an Italian, & it didn't disappoint!
The atmosphere is very cozy, charming & warm. The service is friendly & welcoming, lots of great recommendations for wine pairing with the food. The fried calamari was delicate & well cooked, the pasta I chose was delightful & perfect for late Fall weather. The tiramisu was good & the final gift was a shot for our table on the house!
We will definitely be back 😌
What a great experience. A neighbourhood but much more than that. The service was top notch i felt right at home when I got in.
As for the food, the octopus salade with fennel & organe was a breath of fresh air followed with the lamb chops with an amazing sauce was a great way to start the evening.
We finished the night with a couple pastas that were very generous portion wise.
Overall i highly recommend this restaurant. Come by for the wine & stay for the food.
antonietta is an italian hidden gem! the restaurant is small but the seating arrangement, decor, & ambiance make the space feel cozy & inviting. with an open kitchen concept, you feel as though you're a guest having handmade dinner in someone's home. the service is impeccable as the staff is extremely informed about the ingredients & extensively know their wine list. the wine menu has your main options: red, white, orange & bubbly. if you have any questions or concerns they are there to guide you in having the best & most authentic italian experience in the city. now when it comes to the food - absolutely orgasmic! with a perfectly size menu (one page) you can taste the freshness & quality in each bite from appetizers to dessert. to add, i noticed that so much craft, passion, & creativity goes into every dish. we were fortunate to try an experimental dish made by their back of house legend, matteo, & of course it did not disappoint.
antonietta is absolutely gorgeous & checks all your culinary boxes! thank you to the amazing team, can't wait to come back during the summer!
Amazing experience as always. One of the best italian restaurants in Montreal, everyone should give it a try.
Everything is great from the wine selection, to the starters, the pizza, the pasta, the mains & the desserts. Menu is often changing so you can always try new things.
The grilled octopus that was on the special last night was one of the best I've had in a very long time. Super tender & moist.
There should be 400 more restaurants like this one. In 2024, it is still difficult to adjust expectations about the Quality-Price ratios in restaurants given the inflation & shortage of labour, but one thing is clear: they know how to meet the expectations of italian food lovers. I would go back there every week if I could.
My only constructive comment: I expected a more reliable & researched ITALIAN wine list. Don't get me wrong, all the wines we tasted were great, & the waiter knew his stuff. It is just that there were no valpolicella from Tomasso Bussola. Quintarelli & others on the list. The balance was heavily on many French regions, for a Trattoria ... that's a bummer. That being said, kudos for an extensive list of rosati & orange wines.
We can't speak highly enough of Antonietta's. The food is incredible, some of the best pizza & pasta in town. The cocktails & wine list are great & the staff is wonderful. We have a great time every time we go.
Everything was wonderful! Starting with the hospitable hosts to the delectable dishes. Staff was very knowledgeable on their wines & recommended the perfect pairing. The ambiance of Antonietta is warm & cozy.
