Huge portions. Excellent value. Very flavourful food. My husband & I shared the famous All Dressed Salt & Pepper Pork Chops with Rice, General Tao Chicken & Peanut Butter Wontons. The pork chops were way too greasy for my liking, but my husband loved them. I enjoyed the flavour, just not all the fat. The General Tao Chicken was oddly tough & chewy but the sauce was fantastic. I loved the peanut butter wontons.
$13 for a gigantic version of pork chop rice. Can't complain. I believe the portion can feed 2 adults. Well worth it.
Food was wonderful..spring rolls, fried rice, beef with vegetables & Chung pao shrimp. Price was very reasonable & large portions.
Both the Salt & Pepper Pork & Rice, & the Shanghai Style Chow Mein were delicious & reasonably priced.
Best salt & pepper fried pork chops. Biggest portions size for the price in Chinatown. Got some courtesy upon sittin, it was nice although scalding hot. Ordered the pork chops. They come with rice, a fried egg & bok choy. Everything was delicious. I always leave satisfied when I go to this restaurant. The service was nice & the atmosphere was cozy.
Felt like having quick Cantonese dinner, found this gem in Chinatown, after checking out the menu, we order young chow fried rice, the portion was good however the taste wasn't flavorful enough. Not salty enough & missing eggs & wok fire tasting (wok hay). Besides that only one waiter running the show, he was efficient & quick. Over all we ordered their two must order dishes, salt & pepper fried pork chops & chicken n shrimp with mayo sauce. Both dish was pretty decent, the portion to the pork chop was huge! Consumer Price index was over the chart! They must had 13 to 14 pieces of pork chops for under 14 cad. That is really good value! Besides that we ordered garlic stir fried buk choy, & bitter melon with black bean beef which was off the menu. Over all was great dinner with plenty of left over pork chops. I think we had like 7 pieces left. Will be back to this place when we are ever back to Montreal again.
My review is quite generous, the place was good. Finding it was difficult because it's upstairs & there wasn't a sign that I could see. The food was ok, the general Tao was a bit hard to chew compared to other places that I usually eat the same dish. The beef fried rice was phenomenal but the Cantonese chow mein was disgusting. It was more like noddles & a thick gravy poured on top with tasteless shrimp sooooo, don't recommend that. The atmosphere was traditional but a bit lacklustre in terms of lighting & environment. That was probably due to us being seated in a tight corner. The waiter was nice but cluttered as he was the ONLY one to be waiting at least 4 tables, checking out & doing Uber. He was doing too much by himself making wait times longer. More staff needed? Perhaps.
Affordable prices & Perfect portions! Weekday's special lunch menus are also fantastic, In addition, They have probably the best & only 煲仔饭(Clay Pot Rice)in MTL! Me personally Pork Chop & clay pot rice are highly recommend. P.S.: Clay Pot Rice usually needs around 40mins to cook, so you can call them to order the Clay Pot Rice before, & order other dish when you arrive!
Hope the hot sale never ends the chops rice choy egg is extremely fire!
