Review Summary

Améa Café is widely praised for its stunning, spacious, and Mediterranean-inspired design, making it a popular destination for working, studying, or socializing in downtown Montreal. Many visitors highlight the high quality and beautiful presentation of the pastries, with several specific items like the shakshuka and unique croissants frequently receiving acclaim. While the ambiance and aesthetic are consistent favorites, reviews are mixed regarding the food consistency, portion sizes, and pricing. Service experiences vary, as the fast-paced, counter-order system can lead to long wait times or logistical challenges during busy periods. Despite some comments about noise levels, inconsistent ingredient quality, and occasional difficulties in securing seating, the cafe remains a highly recommended spot for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse menu.

Amidst the charming embrace of Montreal's historic Maison Alcan building lies a sanctuary for the senses – Améa, a place where romance intertwines with Mediterranean splendor. Like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered, this gourmand resto, pizzeria, & coffee shop radiate an ambiance that is nothing short of enchanting.

Derived from the word "âme," meaning soul in French, Améa is a love letter to the heart & passion that infuses every corner of the menu. From the moment I stepped through its doors, I was transported to a world of culinary poetry & sensory delight.

The Mediterranean-inspired flavors dance upon the palate like a whispered promise, evoking images of sun-kissed shores & languid evenings. Each bite is a symphony of tastes that speaks of timeless traditions & the artistry of skilled hands. The delicate balance of flavors, the exquisite presentation, & the attention to detail are a testament to the soulful dedication that Améa pours into every dish.

As I sipped on the rich, velvety coffee, I felt the warmth of the ambiance seep into my very being. The Maison Alcan building, with its historic charm, forms the perfect backdrop to the story Améa tells – a tale of tradition, passion, & a love for life's simple pleasures.

Améa isn't just a dining experience; it's a journey into the heart of culinary romance. With every taste, every aroma, & every touch, the restaurant captures the essence of soulful dining. Whether you're seeking a romantic rendezvous or simply looking to savor life's finest flavors, Améa beckons, inviting you to partake in a love affair with food, ambiance, & the very essence of the Mediterranean spirit.

On the ground floor of the Zu co-working space in Montreal, the building where Amea cafe is located is adorned with art work, installations, & sculptures which add to the lively ambiance.

Some seating areas have electric plugs which make it easy to get some work done. There are also booths for a bit more privacy (the electric plugs don't work in all of them).

Quiet in the mornings & bustling from lunch & throughout the afternoon.

Cafe, food, snacks, alcoholic drinks, coffee, etc. There is something for everyone.

The place is clean & well kept.
The washroom area have individual stalls for everyone to use.

Prices are average across the city.
