Ok where do I start. So many gluten free options.
I took the mango salad. Tasty, juicy & not too spicy. Afterwards I took the butter chicken. The flavours are well balanced. & then, ladies & gentlemen, I tried lamb korma. OMG it was like a food hug. So good i wanted to curse LOL. I ate everything with rice because their bread is not gluten free.
The place is pretty & chique. During summer they open the big windows so you can sit near the street.View more
We showed up right at 5PM for their weekday happy hour deal: order any main & get 50% off appetizers & drinks. For real, that kind of deal in Montreal feels like a unicorn. Bonus? It's BYOB! Bring your favorite bottle or try their mocktails-surprisingly bold & worth it.
Mocktail highlights:
🍍 Ginger Pineapple Fusion - Bright, zesty, & just the right kick.
🥭 Mango Virgin Mojito - Sweet, tropical, & super refreshing. Perfect sidekick to all the spicy bites.
What we ate (& loved):
🥟 Chana Samosa - My MVP appetizer. Think crispy samosas loaded with spiced chickpeas, yogurt, & tangy chutneys. Like Indian nachos, but better.
🫓 Keema Naan - Fluffy naan stuffed with spiced ground meat. Tasty, but I'd ask if they could make it spicy next time!
🫓 Cheese Naan - Fluffy naan with cheese inside
🫓 Garlic Naan - Delicious with the butter chicken 🤤
🍗 Chicken Pakoras - Crispy, juicy, would love a little hot sauce with it.
🥗 Paneer, Tomato & Mango Salad - Gorgeous & fresh but a bit mild flavor wise. Wanted a bit of crunch or spice to round it out.
Main dishes = full flavor mode:
🍛 Butter Chicken - Creamy, rich, & total comfort food goals.
🍤 Shrimp Karahi - Light, flavorful, & packed with peppers & onions.
🍖 Lamb Biryani - Fragrant rice, tender lamb, & cozy spice. Everything you want in a biryani.
🔥 Mixed Grill Platter - All the tikka you could want-chicken, lamb, malai, & seekh kababs. Juicy & sizzling. Perfect for sharing (or not).
Sweet ending:
🍮 Cardamom Crème Brûlée - Dreamy custard with a toasty caramel top & that warm cardamom hug.
The vibe? Cozy, colorful, & full of personality. The staff handled our giant order & many questions with patience & smiles. This spot is perfect for date night, squad dinner, or spoiling yourself midweek.
💡 Foxy Tip: Bring a bottle, ask for extra spice if that's your vibe, & don't skip the chana samosa.

Amazing food, great ambiance, & great recommendations & service from Amani! The lamb dishes were particularly good!View more
I've been coming to this restaurant for the past 3 years & my experience was always good! I love their service & the food is amazing. Their chana samosa, lamb vindaloo & chicken tikka masala is the best!View more
The food exceeded my expectations. We ordered the lamb curry with another dish to share & they were great. The service was nice too. I'll definitely go back.View more
It's a nice place with ambience & good service. The food however lacked spices & rich flavors. I was surprised given the rave reviews. We tried various appetizers & dishes with lamb, beef, paneer in different sauces. I do love Indian food & have been to great Indian places so maybe my expectations are unfair.View more
Went last friday with my girlfriend, the lamb korma that the waitress recommended was great! waitress created a very hospitable atmosphere & answered all our questions very clearly. love this place!View more
The butter chicken lamb vindaloo was mouth watering. amazing staff as well.View more
Lovely staff !! The food is very good for the price as well. We had the Butter Chicken & the Lamb Curry. The unlimited rice & bring your own wine are great added bonuses. We'll come back !View more
Items ordered: Midi Thaali(untill 4pm only weekdays), lamb biryani & lamb karahi & naans. Portions are very good. Bit more than 1 person can finish. Specially the thaali. Thaali has 1 non veg & 2 veg curries & comes with samosa, naan, rice, chutney & dessert. It was very good. Biryani was good this time, spice level was ordered very spicy & like we say in our language(paisa wasool +) means money was fully recovered in taste & pleasure. Same goes for lamb karahi ordered in very spicy level & is a plus in all taste & portion & enjoyment. 👌 authentic taste. Naans were big & awesome. So we loved everything & was satisfied. Very good & not at all expensive. Well done.View more
I believe Amber offers the best overall experience for Indian/Pakistani food. The decor is sleek, offering what appears to be a vast dining area. The service on my last 3 visits has been pleasant is all aspects. On my last two visits I ordered the lamb biryani along with the saag paneer & bartha. In my book you can judge the quality of the establishment by it's Biryani, Amber's biryani is delicious. The rice isn't oily, there are just enough nuts & dried fruit along with a well balanced spice mix. The lamb (a generous portion) is succulent The rest of the dishes were also well spiced although I prefer the eggplant to be more present in flavour. The service is great My favourite place & to boot my dining partner will only eat Indian/Pakistani food at Amber.View more
It's a very cute place, especially during summer if you get to sit at the open window. I've been to this place twice & the food tasted differently between lunch & dinner. Beef, lamb dishes seemed to miss spice both times. Paneer in the spinach souse was delicious. Service during lunch was low level. Even though I was the only person it took me 15 minutes to get the waitress to get me a bill. Service during the evening was much nicer. A different lady (I think Francesca) was extremely helpful in describing dishes & her availability in the room.View more
The service & the atmosphere was truly amazing. The front staff were friendly & accommodating, & were gladly able to respond to any of our questions. The service was fairly quick, even when their busy. I will recommend trying out the saag paneer with a side of rice, which was creamy & full of flavors. The bengun had bursting flavors, especially the smokey taste since it's made in the tandoor. In the meaty side, my absolute favorite were lamb korma, lamb karahi, saag shrimp & haleem beef. & lastly, our chicken biryani was well cooked, the combination of the spices, meat & the rice were perfectly balanced. I would highly recommend trying out this place. It is very affordable & all the dishes are well priced. My family & I enjoyed it a lot & we will come back again.View more
Really Dissapointing. :( Lamb Korma was just okay-ish, Chicken Tikka Masala was simply tasteless, & Naan was burnt... They are much better Indian restaurants in Montreal, don't waste your money here.View more
We had takeout tonight & it was fabulous. Ready in 20 minutes! The lamb vindaloo was sour & spicy - just the way it is supposed.to be! Saag was nicely spiced with good chunks of paneer. The butter chicken sauce was rich & just the touch of sweetness to match the cream. Naan - fluffy & lovely. Great tandoori chicken. We are ready to go to the dining room next!!!View more
Apart from the Lamb dish which was decent, the four other dishes we ordered were very bland . Also the naan was cold & not fresh. I'm very surprised that they managed to make indian food bland with all the spices involved! Very disappointed in the food but the ambiance & service was good.
I went there for the second time only to be positively surprised by their lunch menu. I was able to taste many different Indian flavors in one sitting. Can't go wrong with that! I was especially delighted by the dessert: Gulab Jamun. It was a sponge-like-texture ball that was soaked with this mildly sweet (I believe there was rose water to flavour) simple syrup that felt like the best way to end a meal! All bowls are a small hand size so it's a very good portion. I had the Lamb korma which is slightly sweet as it's made with coconut milk. I'll definitely keep going back. It's a great place, with delicious food & affordable prices.View more
Girls you gotta try the curry, lamb & SAMOSAS! ALSO, heck yes to bring your own wine. Amazing space.View more
It was my wife's birthday supper, & I surprised her by taking her to & Indian restaurant. I ordered the grillade land it's was over cooked , I had one piece & a half of the lamb & when we told the waitress she had the response , well you ate some !!!!! How am I suppose to taste it !!! & during the whole we were there not once did our glasses of water filled
Thought it was going to be a great evening was finally a real disappointment 🙁
The lamb inside my stew was a little stiff. If it cooks more it would be better.
As a foody, it s really hard to find a place that hits all your taste bus. Amber surely did it. Deliciously divine...the taste still lingers in my mind, watering my mouth. That vindaloo lamb was an explosion softened by the delicacy of the butter chicken. But i do not regret the heat & sweat broght by that beef masala.
I took my parents there & all of the food was delicious. The service was warm & friendly. Highlights were the fish pakora, onion bhaji, lamb korma, butter chicken, karahi beef, & the sesame naan. Highly recommend!
Cute restaurant & tasty food, though it may or may not be served hot. The service seemed overstretched, the lighting was way too bright, & the music sounded like it was being played from a cellphone lol
We ordered the cheese pakora, Tikka chicken salad, lamb karahi, butter chicken, & garlic naan. The pakora came cold, the Tikka chicken was about 50g or less of sliced chicken served on a garden salad, the karahi & butter chicken were very tasty.
