Sushi & service by David was amazing! Did my research & the high Google reviews were spot on. Will be back this week.
Each category is FIVE star. Not one making up for the other; but the food, the service & the atmosphere were great. Can't wait to come back & try some more rolls.
It's a hit & miss. I had take-out once & that was good but when I went to dinner in the restaurant & it was subpar. All the deep fried sushi was soggy. Given the price on premium rolls, it was really disappointing. Service was great.
2025 dine-in: the combo for two was pretty basic but filling. Quality was pretty much the same as an all you can eat place. Pretty decor. Friendly service though didn't explain which rolls were which. The cover songs were a little annoying though. The pink Sayuri sake was a nice side, though the SAQ has it for less than half the price. 2024 delivery: Got the initiation combo. The non fried rolls were warm & the restaurant is not far away. Did not follow instructions to not provide chopsticks or soy sauce. The rolls themselves were alright, seemed a little much for the quality price but it was definitely filling. Bunny orange slice is a cute presentation addition.
Please bring back the lobster or at minimum the crab in your Volcano roll! Felt completely scammed after paying full price & seeing you were now making it with salmon!! Not the same at all.
Had food delivered & it was excellent. The spring rolls were very good. We had the 46 piece platter & added the lobster pizza. Everything was fresh & tasted amazing. Good job!
OMG the best sushi I have ever tried. The special rolls are all heaven. We tried all & could not get enough. Its nice to have new flavors to try. Yes a little on the pricey side but so worth it.
The food was amazing. Each specialty roll better than the last. Our server, Renee, was so friendly & made us feel so comfortable. The experience as a whole just made all 4 of us in our party HAPPY!
Home from Ontario so first time seeing the new location. It is beautifully designed & very welcoming. All the staff were super friendly & attentive. The sushi is consistently delicious. We have yet to find specialty rolls anywhere that are as good as Aikawas!
We have visited Aikawa many times over the years when it was located in the back end of a strip mall on Brunswick & now finally had a chance to try them in their (relatively) new digs in the Galeries des Source mall, with a huge sign facing the highway. The resto is quite large following an'L' shaped pattern with a long sushi bar at the entrance & a large number of tables on the side & to the back, including a large private room at the back. A nice touch is the tv screen showing examples of their specialty sushi maki rolls...certainly helped us to make our decisions. For food, we had Miso Soup (a classic...no issues) & the Green Salad (OK...the dressing was not mixed into the leaves enough), as well as Edamame to start. For our mains, Chicken Teriyaki (served on a sizzling skillet...very good although the portion size has reduced over the years), & a large sushi plate (Hamachi, Magura & Sake...all very fresh fish, definitely not from frozen...& all very good), The West Island, Spicy Salmon & Twister...which also were very good. All in all, I was very happy with the sushi quality & presentation. The only (nominal) downside is the ambiance of the restaurant. While the décor is very nice it seems a bit sterile or at least lacks a measure of warmth. Not sure why, just a sense we had but that did not take away from either the food or the service. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!
Paid 120$ 1 assortment of sashimi : good overall (very hard to mess up) 1 plate assorted by chef : only 1 roll with fish which was ridiculous for the price)
Very pretty new location. Service was slow (looked like they were short staffed). Dragon ears were delicious. Should have ordered individual rolls instead of the set sushi for 2 which was just ok.
Great food & service! The 'besame mucho' rolls are a must-have every time I go here.
Food was amazing as always. Besame Mucho rolls are always great
Great specialty chef rolls , attentive service by Renee & relaxing & chic decor! Highly recommend.
Best sushi in the West Island. The specialty rolls are really delicious & are worth the extra money.
Restaurant was empty when we arrived & service was good. All our appetizers were amazing. We then took mostly specialty rolls ($$$$) & they were good but not over the top. The sushi Pizza was very bland with very little fish on it :(
As the restaurant got busier, our waiter disappeared. We wanted to order more but couldn't find the guy. After that, we wanted dessert & guess what, nowhere to be found. I got up & asked another guy for the check. We had initially made reservations for my son's bday & mentioned it but they didnt even acknowledge it. For almost $300 for 4 people, I was a little disappointed!
sushi was fresh & présentation ok. spicy rolls' flavours not harmonious (bland with a sudden zing from flavoured mayo) & service was attentive but felt amateur. also - some rolls' composition did not match description (example: 17$ fire & ice roll description promises a roll with a layer of mango on the outside, instead there was a barely visible /detectable quantity in the roll). not bad but not rushing back any time soon...
Japanese food at its best! Great dining experience, & at a very convenient location. It's just off the 40, so easy to get to. My family & I like going out every weekend together to eat, & this is definitely our favorite place. The chefs make excellent rolls, perfect sashimi cuts. It's a really great sushi place, for anybody who loves it like we do!
This was my first time going out for sushi. We found this place, almost by accident. It is hidden off of Sources Blvd.
We tried the beginners sushi plate & it was amazing. The Venus roll was heaven! My 11 year old fish hater loved her vegetarian rolls. I can't wait to go back & try their other specialties.
Atmosphere is relaxed, but sophisticated & warm. Great service.
It's always a pleasure to come visit this sushi restaurant in west island Montreal, & it's absolutely the best in the area. The ambiance is very nice, music, cocktails list, bar, & of course the selection of my favourite sushi. The chef I think won some awards & guess what his sushi are one of the best in the city at all. Try martini cocktails with bessame mucho rolls & you won't regret
