About

Acajou Br serves a diverse menu blending traditional Brazilian staples with distinct African and Latin American culinary influences. Guests encounter bold flavor profiles through expertly prepared stews, grilled meats, and tropical plantain-based accompaniments. The kitchen prioritizes authentic techniques to construct dishes that balance savory spices with refreshing acidity. Vibrant ingredients such as coconut milk, black beans, and cassava root define the core identity of the rotating selection. Interior design elements reflect a functional and modest aesthetic, focusing the attention entirely on the composition of the plates. Each component functions as an exploration of transatlantic food history, delivering consistent textures and deep, layered seasoning. This establishment remains a destination for those seeking a direct, flavor-forward approach to regional delicacies sourced from multiple global territories across the equator.

Review Summary

Acajou Br is highly regarded for its authentic and delicious Brazilian cuisine, with many visitors praising dishes such as the feijoada, picanha, and various appetizers. The restaurant offers a warm, cozy, and family-friendly atmosphere that makes guests feel as though they have been transported to Brazil. Exceptional service is a consistent highlight, as the welcoming staff and owners are frequently commended for their kindness, attentiveness, and ability to accommodate special dietary needs like gluten and corn allergies. While a small minority of diners found the experience ordinary, the overwhelming consensus points to a high-quality dining destination where flavorful food, generous portions, and genuine hospitality combine to create a memorable experience in the heart of Montreal.

The food is decent. Waited meals quite a while 40 minutes. Dishes medium size, got out with some hunger. The stuff is friendly.

I was visiting Montreal for few days & was looking for Brazilian food & I found this restaurant close to my hotel, it's very easy to get there there is a metro station right on the corner. I'm speechless by the flavor of the food, it's was incredible delicious, very well seasoned, I order some Brazilian salgados to start, coxinha, bolinho de bacalhau & risoles de camarao, was perfect fried & the dough was soft & the meat was very good seasoned, for main course I ordered the picanha & came with rice, beans, vinaigrette, farofa & fried yuca, the meat was cooked in perfectly way, the & rice & beans in small portions enough for one person. The close I went to this food test was only in Brazil, I've been to many Brazilian restaurants outside Brazil specifically in USA & nothing compares to this one. It's a small restaurant the atmosphere was nice, a little bit Brazilian music, the only complaint I have was the bathroom, the toilet was dirty & broke, & the sink was full of water probably was also broken.
