About

Acajou Br serves a diverse menu blending traditional Brazilian staples with distinct African and Latin American culinary influences. Guests encounter bold flavor profiles through expertly prepared stews, grilled meats, and tropical plantain-based accompaniments. The kitchen prioritizes authentic techniques to construct dishes that balance savory spices with refreshing acidity. Vibrant ingredients such as coconut milk, black beans, and cassava root define the core identity of the rotating selection. Interior design elements reflect a functional and modest aesthetic, focusing the attention entirely on the composition of the plates. Each component functions as an exploration of transatlantic food history, delivering consistent textures and deep, layered seasoning. This establishment remains a destination for those seeking a direct, flavor-forward approach to regional delicacies sourced from multiple global territories across the equator.

Review Summary

Acajou Br provides an authentic Brazilian dining experience that frequently earns praise for its delicious food, particularly the feijoada and picanha. Guests consistently highlight the exceptionally warm and welcoming service, which creates a cozy, family-like atmosphere that makes visitors feel right at home. While most diners find the menu to be a high-quality representation of Brazil with generous portions and excellent cocktails, a few feel the pricing is high for the experience. The establishment is noted for its ability to accommodate dietary needs, such as gluten allergies, with great care. Overall, the combination of genuine hospitality, flavorful traditional dishes, and a comfortable setting makes it a highly recommended destination for those seeking a true taste of Brazil in the city.

I ordered picanha, & I think it was the most delicious food I had during my trip to Canada. The cassava powder that came with it is especially attractive. The staff is also kind & highly recommend it. & also, rice is served with the meal, so if you need rice, be sure to stop by.

Don't go if you hungry or wanna feel like they care about you as a client, they took a year & a half to deliver a beans & rice plate, nobody came to apologize neither inform or give a ETA of the plates, waiters passing by like we weren't there, really good flavour on the food, but if it wasn't for my girlfriend I would have left the place after the first 30 minutes of wait.

I came here with both my parents hoping to eat a good piece of meat. & that's exactly what we did.

We ordered a plate that included pork, beef, chicken & chorizo with beans & rice. It was very well done, everything was juicy & tasty. I loved it.

We also ordered Pastel with cheese & with meat. The cheese one was really good, we kept ordering them. The beef one on the other side I felt like it was missing spice. Maybe adding some rice or a sauce so it feels richer because it just felt like cooked ground beef with salt.

The Manga juice was delicious, exactly what I expected. Sweet & refreshing.

One of the workers came to our table & let us taste his special spicy sauce & it was very very good.

The ambiance felt good, like a family restaurant you would visit after & event or to celebrate something. The music selection was good too, everyone was laughing & having a good time. The tables could be a little more further from eachother thought.

Even if it's a little expensive (20$/28$), I would recommend & I hope to come back cause it was delicious & if the food is delicious I don't mind the price.

Thank you!

XimXim was to die for (think, Brazilian Mafe) 😍😍😍😍😍 The meat in the Churrasco was on point, with the fried casava flour, fried, rice, black beans...... 🤯

Delicious & affordable grill plates! We both had the picanha; about 10 oz steak that comes with feijoada, rice & some crunchy things (no idea what it was, but it was tasty!). Don't be fooled by the appearances, this plate is very filling (& flavourful)!

I was visiting Montreal for few days & was looking for Brazilian food & I found this restaurant close to my hotel, it's very easy to get there there is a metro station right on the corner. I'm speechless by the flavor of the food, it's was incredible delicious, very well seasoned, I order some Brazilian salgados to start, coxinha, bolinho de bacalhau & risoles de camarao, was perfect fried & the dough was soft & the meat was very good seasoned, for main course I ordered the picanha & came with rice, beans, vinaigrette, farofa & fried yuca, the meat was cooked in perfectly way, the & rice & beans in small portions enough for one person. The close I went to this food test was only in Brazil, I've been to many Brazilian restaurants outside Brazil specifically in USA & nothing compares to this one. It's a small restaurant the atmosphere was nice, a little bit Brazilian music, the only complaint I have was the bathroom, the toilet was dirty & broke, & the sink was full of water probably was also broken.
