We were craving pastel & decided to try Acajou Restaurant. Unfortunately, I left still craving pastel.
The taste was nothing like a traditional Brazilian pastel - it felt more like a fried dough with cheese inside, lacking flavor & crunch. The pao de queijo also didn't resemble the real Brazilian version at all.
Service was slow, & the food took even longer to come out, even though we only ordered two pastéis & a portion of pao de queijo.
Another downside is the smoke from the kitchen, which spreads throughout the entire restaurant.
Overall, my experience wasn't great. Maybe it's worth a visit if you're going for the barbecue, but if you're looking for good pastel, this is definitely not the place.Voir plus

I came here with both my parents hoping to eat a good piece of meat. & that's exactly what we did.
We ordered a plate that included pork, beef, chicken & chorizo with beans & rice. It was very well done, everything was juicy & tasty. I loved it.
We also ordered Pastel with cheese & with meat. The cheese one was really good, we kept ordering them. The beef one on the other side I felt like it was missing spice. Maybe adding some rice or a sauce so it feels richer because it just felt like cooked ground beef with salt.
The Manga juice was delicious, exactly what I expected. Sweet & refreshing.
One of the workers came to our table & let us taste his special spicy sauce & it was very very good.
The ambiance felt good, like a family restaurant you would visit after & event or to celebrate something. The music selection was good too, everyone was laughing & having a good time. The tables could be a little more further from eachother thought.
Even if it's a little expensive (20$/28$), I would recommend & I hope to come back cause it was delicious & if the food is delicious I don't mind the price.

Had the feijoada here, it was absolutely delectable. My wife & I were unsure about whether we'd like it or not so we asked to share it & our server was very accommodating about that. The mixed drinks at the bar are very well made! Definitely worth trying something with dinner.Voir plus
