Review Summary

Abu Elias is described as a cornerstone for charcoal grilled Middle Eastern meat in Montreal, offering a wide range of items from kafta, filet mignon, and tawook sandwiches to kebbeh nayeh and tebleh, and a butcher shop that doubles as a market and eatery. Reviews praise the freshness and quality of the meat, the bold flavors, and the variety of prepared dishes and salads that reflect the same care and craftsmanship. The service is often friendly and attentive, though some visits report occasional missteps with orders or items that are overly salty or overcooked, and a perception that prices can be high or that service varies when not local. Parking can be tight and seating limited, yet the overall impression is of a place that feels authentic, welcoming, and dedicated to Lebanese and Middle Eastern meat dishes, with a clean kitchen, a professional team, and a strong emphasis on quality across raw cuts and cooked specialties.

Delicious charcoal cooked meats. The wraps are unique & cooked to perfection. A bit pricy now but the chicken & steak wraps are top notch. Service is sometimes not great when your not a local.

This isn't just a butcher shop-it's a celebration of craft, heritage, & a deep respect for flavor. A Middle Eastern butcher since 1992, this place carries decades of knowledge in every cut, every seasoning, every detail. The meat tartares are truly exceptional-perfectly balanced, boldly seasoned, & handled with real finesse. Their stuffed chickens deserve special praise; each variation is thoughtfully prepared, rich in flavor, & genuinely memorable.

You don't just shop here-you can sit & eat, turning a visit into an experience. Alongside the meats, there are vibrant salads & other dishes that reflect the same care & intention. You can feel the pride they take in their work.

I traveled from far away to get some charcoal barbecued chicken, it was over salted & overcooked so hard to eat, I end up throwing it in the garbage, the hummus & garlic sauce was taste less too, it end up to be a big disappointment.

I'd take a 20h flight from Brazil just to eat the chicken again.

Ordered from Uber eats, chicken + lamb pita & roasted potatoes. Very tasty & fresh, very pleased with the quality! I'll be back :-)

We ordered 1/2 kg of grilled mix. The taste was good, but compared to other places, the food here was more expensive. We paid $38 plus tax for this plate ( small skewers ), while at another restaurant we paid $27 for a mix kebab that included 4 skewers lamb, chicken, beef , salad, rice, hummus, bread, grilled tomato & garlic sauce.

Got some pastries, muhammara, chicken breast & ground beef. Everything was fresh, clean & with high standard. This is my first time visiting the shop, so I took some extra manaeesh to stock in the freezer. Staff were friendly & professional. I would go there again for sure.

Ordered a few chicken tawooq. Weren't as I expected. Tiny dry sandwiches you'd need 4 to get full. From basic/normal/good/excellent, I choose basic. Won't go back.

I ordered the 1 kilo mix grilled meat to feed my family. The chicken was amazing but the filet mignon was not Chew chew chew & spit out it was not edible The koftah was ok The hummus was good & the garlic mayo was really good Sadly for that price it doesn't come with rice, potatoes or veggies. One con is There is almost no parking. If you are lucky you can grab one of the few parking slots they have. Inside the store it's total chaos They talk to everyone in Arabic assuming every client is arab which was not very professional & a little offensive. Overall I give it a generous 3 on 5
