My partner & I came here during a layover & were so impressed with the service, authenticity & flavor. Our server Ala was very welcoming. Portion sizes are huge!

It's quite confusing the high rating of this restaurant. I went with the entire family (old & young) & I must say that the service was terrible. We were one of only 3 customer tables & the appetizers took over 20 minutes to arrive. We also ordered the mix grill which was another disappointment - charred chicken & meat with a strange after taste - & filet Mignon that was either rare or well done all in the same platter. I came here 3 years ago & it was the same subpar quality & food - but I figured it's OK they weren't open long. Yet here we are 3 years after, same subpar service & food, only a nice decor. Never coming back again.
nous sommes allez un dimanche… autant que notre entrée principale je donne un 12/10 cetais excellent…(hummus chawarma)wow… autant que le plat principal étais…4/10… on a prit l'assiette mixte pour 4 personnes… ( on étais deux) personnellement je trouve que pour 4 personnes la portion étais petite… de plus le poulet étais brûler & par la même occasion goûtais le brûler … le filet mignon étais correct… l'agneau avait rien d'exceptionnel…les ailes de poulet 4/10…les frites par exemple étais très bonne… ca nous a couter 200$…en gros cetais un gros 5/10 ( s'il te plaît ne mettez pas vos menue dans l'assiette c'est pas hygiénique… tout le monde le touche)
We love coming here whenever we are in Montreal. The food, the service & the atmosphere are excellent. Ola, our server was very pleasant & she made sure to have the kitchen make us Katayef even though they only serve those for Iftar. Abu El Zulof is the next best thing to my mom's cooking.
The design of the place is outdated not my preference & the service wasn't that good. 1 server will be working for all the table so things will take a minute when I was there. The food is really good
Alors par où commencer… Globalement, la nourriture était un 4 ou 5 sur 10. Rien de spécial, les plats manquaient de saveur. La soupe de lentilles était bonne, mais les kebbeh étaient secs & manquaient peut-être un peu de sel. Les sambousas étaient affreusement huileux. Les plats principaux n'avaient rien d'exceptionnel & le dessert était franchement mauvais.
Mais le vrai problème n'était même pas la nourriture, c'était le service, qui était catastrophique. Les serveuses étaient très lentes. Quand elles partaient, elles ne revenaient plus & il était difficile d'attirer leur attention si on avait besoin de quelque chose.
La façon de servir était aussi très médiocre. Tous les plats ont été apportés en même temps, ce qui a rempli la table. Les plats ont rapidement refroidi & on n'avait presque pas de place pour bouger. Par la suite, personne n'est venu débarrasser la table jusqu'à ce qu'on le demande nous-mêmes, & encore, après avoir eu du mal à joindre quelqu'un.
Un autre point très important : certaines assiettes étaient ébréchées. À ma connaissance, cela ne devrait pas être utilisé dans un restaurant, car cela peut être dangereux & ce n'est pas très hygiénique. Ce serait vraiment bien de corriger cela pour les prochains clients.
En tout cas, c'était une première & dernière fois pour moi. Je n'ai rien aimé & l'expérience a été plutôt stressante.

We visited this place about a year ago & had a great experience, which is why we decided to come back yesterday with a friend who was visiting.
Unfortunately, this time it was extremely disappointing. In total we waited about two hours. My friends arrived an hour before me & were told it would be'a few minutes.' When I arrived & we asked again, we were told'three minutes,' but those three minutes turned into about forty minutes.
During the last 20 minutes we saw two tables become available, yet people who were behind us in line were seated first, & some guests were even allowed to skip the line.
The hallway was packed with around 25 people waiting, & the whole situation was very disorganized. If the wait is long, it would be much better to create a waiting list & tell guests approximately how long they need to wait.
In the end we left after two hours & went to Kenzo, where we actually had a great evening. Unfortunately, this experience completely ruined our plans to spend the evening here.
Un très bon restaurant, nous avons adoré notre expérience. La bouffe est super bonne, l'ambiance aussi & l'équipe sur place. Merci pour cette belle expérience
We had such an amazing evening, we ordered the set menu for iftar the food was delicious & our waitress Oula was very sweet & professional she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal.
I am on a business trip, from Vancouver. Did not know the restaurant closes at 7 pm, Rahman was gracious enough to serve me for my iftar (breaking of fast). It was a sumptuous dinner, staring with a date to salad to the main course. Nine delicious items. I will visit them for yet another break of fast in a couple of days. I wish they open a location in Vancouver.
