Visiting from Brantford ON, & wanted to treat my family to a great steak. Only criteria in my google search was that it had to be away from the downtown core.
We chose 1855 Steakhouse & were extremely surprised that it was not as full on a Friday night as I was expecting but once we sat down, we received nothing but the utmost EXCELLENCE in food & service. The bread was amazing (warm amd fresh), the Ceaser was made with fresh ingredients & what tasted like in house made dressing. The piece-de-resistance was the steak. Perfectly cooked, with a great fresh salt accompaniment that would make your mouth water. I could do without the sides as we were so full from everything else, but those were delicious as well. The service?…Gafael was 5 star, attentive, accommodating & so very warm & friendly.
My only complaint is that we have to return to Ontario & I won't be able to come back here anytime soon.

I wanted this steak to be great. First steakhouse in Montreal that I found with a KC Strip cut. Alas, it was overcooked...I want medium rare & I mean medium rare. Steakhouses around Montreal just don't make the like we do in Kansas. The Monte Carlo potato had clearly been in the warmer too long & was also overdone. Last, the vegetable was literally two pieces of broccoli.
The presentation was nice. Caesar salad was done well.

One server for 7 table tops on a Monday.... service was slow.

Edit: owner responded saying we had no reservation & we said everything was fine at the table. This is an odd, nonsensical response; what difference does a reservation make? They were not full & welcome walk-in's. As for not complaining about the food at the table: it is not my practice to do so. Returning an overcooked steak to the kitchen is not a practice I prefer to do. The total bill for 3 of us was over $350. Our expectation was for a much better dining experience.

great steak, as everyone mentioned in the reviews before. the food is good but the service could be a bit warmer for the type of restaurant this is. id give it another try though

My favorite restaurant in Ontario every time I go in Ontario i stop there the closest one was 2 to 3 hours from my home iam glad they opened one in hawkesbury 1 30 minutes away love steak & lobster for 25 to 35 dollars good food great service good prices thanks

Very good steaks. The service is super. They do not have the meal my 4yo toddler wants with the night menu, but they are willing to make it for him. The breads are good as well, the steaks are well cooked to the level that I ordered.

The owners just don't understand what business they are. Quality is very average for the overpriced menu. Their service is very, very poor as they are not hiring the right profile of employee. Owner's kids running all over the place. How this restaurant stays open is bryind belief. Way over priced for the kind of experience they provide.

Everything here is magnificent, & not just the steaks.
The seafood dishes are prepared with love & the highest professionalism. It is suitable both for an evening dinner & for a business lunch.👍👍👍
