The iconic location at 465 McGill Street (formerly Boris Bistro) is becoming Romies, a modern American bistro created by Alexandre Cohen and Raegan Steinberg, the couple behind Arthurs Nosh Bar.
With designer Annika Krausz, they have created a chic and comfortable interior, combining industrial style with a vintage vibe. The dining room features red leather banquettes and marble tables illuminated by candlelight, with black-and-white photos of Krausz's grandfather on the walls. A small, glamorous bar with gold-tinted glass is at the front, and a large window overlooks the courtyard where guests play pétanque.
Franck Roche manages the dining room with sommelier Léa Viens. They have curated a selection of old-world and natural wines, along with a menu of classic and modern cocktails.
The kitchen, led by Alexandre Cohen with Nicholas Giambattisto and Melissa Wood, offers comforting dishes like beef tartare, roasted peppers, and filet mignon. Leigh Roper handles desserts, with treats such as strawberry cheesecake sundaes and apple pie for two.
Romies is perfect for a romantic date, a family meal, or a night out with friends.
