Invitation from Rose PR

In honour of Happening Gourmand's 17th edition, Chandni had the pleasure of trying their 2-course brunch menu for $29. She and her +1 were warmly welcomed with glasses of mimosas. They started off with a refreshing orange and beet salad, along with a comforting minestrone soup. For an additional $15, Chandni chose the braised beef eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce and potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious! Her +1 went for a classic Puttanesca con Spaghetti. Overall, they both really enjoyed the brunch and were equally impressed by how beautiful the restaurant was. Chandni will definitely be back one day to dine on the second floor, where the interior evokes the charm of Italy.

Dalia kicked off her brunch at Brasserie 701 during Happening Gourmand the right way, with mimosas, of course! Because let's be honest, brunch and mimosas go hand in hand. For her main, she chose the Buckwheat Breton Galette, filled with a fried egg, ham, Emmental cheese, spinach, and breakfast potatoes, a savoury and satisfying choice. Her husband went for the Smoked Meat Benedict with poached eggs, Swiss cheese, hollandaise, and crispy breakfast potatoes, which he thoroughly enjoyed. They ended on a sweet note with an assortment of homemade mignardises. The madeleine was a standout, pairing perfectly with an almond milk cappuccino. A delicious and elegant brunch in the heart of Old Montreal!

Dalia and Chandni recently dined at Le Nil Bleu, a longtime favourite of Dalia's and a first-time experience for Chandni, and both were blown away. The warm, inviting ambiance immediately set the tone for an unforgettable meal. With a menu that caters to both vegan and omnivore diets, and now even includes gluten-free options, it was easy to find something for everyone. They opted for the tasting menu, the perfect way to discover the bold, fragrant flavours of Ethiopian cuisine. For Chandni, the spices and aromas evoked memories of her Indian background, while Dalia, already familiar with the restaurant, was thrilled to rediscover just how vibrant and rich the dishes are. Eating with injera, the soft and spongy Ethiopian bread, added a fun and communal element to the meal, making utensils feel completely unnecessary. Whether you're revisiting an old favourite or exploring Ethiopian cuisine for the first time, Le Nil Bleu offers a deliciously immersive experience in a beautiful and intimate setting in the heart of Montreal.

Rébecca was curious to check out the buzz around Poke Monster's new location on Masson. Fresh off a spinning class and craving something filling yet nourishing, she headed over to join the crowd celebrating opening day. The vibe was casual and energetic, reflecting the excitement stirred by their promos (free meals for early birds, discounts all day). She went all in with the Godzilla bowl, a wild mix of marinated salmon, tuna, shrimp, crispy chicken, tempura, sushi rice, fresh veggies, nori and their signature spicy sauce. Every bite hit the spot. Paired with a seaweed salad and a bubble tea, it was the perfect post-workout feast. Rébecca left recharged and already planning her next visit.

Dalia, Rébecca, and Chandni recently visited La Buvette du Dep in Griffintown to try out the café's new evening concept, and all three left thoroughly impressed. They were instantly charmed by the space, especially the warm and eclectic decor filled with antique touches that give the café so much personality. By day, it's a calm, inviting spot ideal for studying or working, with upstairs seating and a cozy, unplugged main floor. Come evening, the ambiance subtly shifts with soft lighting, curated music, and a menu that celebrates local flavours. The trio started their meal with shareable starters like the trio of hummus and gravlax, both of which were big hits. For mains, the smoked meat pizza stood out as a favourite, and the ravioli was also well received, although Dalia found a few dishes slightly on the oily side. Chandni and Rébecca especially enjoyed the cocktails, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. But the true showstopper for all three was dessert, a spiced apple cake with ice cream, walnuts, lime zest, and pecans that Chandni described as so good she'd come back just for that. Whether you're looking for a cozy corner to work or a relaxed spot for an apéro, La Buvette du Dep offers a unique and versatile space that feels just right any time of day.

Dalia and Chandni recently went to Arriba Burrito for brunch and were both seriously impressed. Dalia, visiting for the first time, loved the welcoming service, vibrant DJ sets, and the menu that offered something for everyone. The birria tacos and dulce de leche French toast stood out as her top picks. Chandni, on the other hand, had already been before and was excited to return. This time around, she dove into a variety of drinks like the biscoff latte, mimosas, and her personal favourite, the mango and coconut cocktail. She also raved about the presentation and generous portions, especially the crème brûlée pancakes and the famous dulce de leche French toast. Both agreed the birria tacos are a must, and Chandni recommends going with a group to really enjoy the lively atmosphere, great service, and flavour-packed dishes.

Last summer, Dalia visited Nonnina's and was instantly hooked by their incredible sandwiches and desserts. Everything was so good that she knew she had to return when their Zeppole came back for San Giuseppe. This year, Nonnina brought back their Ricotta, Pistachio, and Nutella Zeppole, and introduced a brand new flavour: Hazelnut. Dalia had the chance to try all four, and each one was a delight. They were freshly made, with a golden, crispy exterior that gave way to a light, fluffy, and tender interior. The dough had the perfect airy texture, with little pockets inside that were never greasy or heavy-just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. While each flavour had its charm, Dalia completely fell in love with the new Hazelnut one. It was rich, nutty, and perfectly balanced, her personal favourite by far. She's already counting down the days until next San Giuseppe, crossing her fingers that Hazelnut becomes a permanent staple on the menu.

Dalia and Chandni recently spent an evening at Junco, a cozy café-buvette in Montreal that effortlessly shifts from daytime coffee spot to an Italian-inspired wine bar at night. The retro Italian décor and warm ambiance created the perfect setting for their dinner. Dalia kicked things off with a Negroni Sbagliato, while Chandni went for an Aperol Spritz-normally not her drink of choice, but Junco's version was so good she nearly ordered another. They both loved the pasta dishes, especially the pappardelle with pistachio pesto, confit tomatoes, and burrata. Chandni was also torn between that and the truffle gnocchi, both of which stood out as highlights of the night. Dalia also enjoyed the mezza luna with hazelnut butter and sage, and the beef carpaccio topped with aioli, fried capers, anchovies, and parmesan. Even the tiramisu, which Dalia usually skips, ended up being a pleasant surprise thanks to its authentic coffee flavour and light sweetness. With its vibrant atmosphere, thoughtful menu, and packed dining room by the end of the evening, Junco definitely proved itself worth the visit.

Invitation from Agence Franchir

Dalia, Rebecca, and Chandni recently dined at Héritaj, a stunning Indo-French fusion restaurant in the heart of Old Montreal. From the moment they stepped in, they were taken by the elegant yet inviting ambiance, with music low enough for conversation and thoughtful touches like included parking that added to the experience. They started the evening with a few appetizers to share, including the Tomates Héritaj Pesto & Paneer, featuring grilled paneer with cherry tomatoes, cilantro-lime yogurt, and crispy garlic petals, as well as the scallops served over crispy korma, which were packed with flavour and texture. For mains, the standouts were the pistachio and coriander-crusted lamb rack and the pan-seared duck breast with its charred edges and subtle sweetness. Chandni, who is Indian herself, truly appreciated the thoughtful blend of Indian spices with French technique and felt Héritaj nailed the balance. It definitely gets her stamp of approval. Dessert was a mixed experience. While the classic French pastries like the mille-feuille and meringue didn't steal the show, the Gulab Jamun with saffron ice cream was a unanimous favourite. Rich, fragrant, and comforting, it perfectly captured the spirit of Héritaj's fusion concept. From the creative dishes to the cozy setting, the whole evening was a memorable celebration of flavour and culture.

Rébecca was happy to try Olive & Gourmando's newest outpost at Royalmount, especially with the promise of a quieter setting and weekday brunch options. The space was bright and peaceful, perfect for catching up with a friend and avoiding the crowds. Their meal began with the Poached on Your Face panini, filled with bold flavours from the spiced egg salad, aged cheese, smoked prosciutto and confit tomatoes. Although she usually skips sweet dishes, the French toast with whipped labneh won her over. The quality matched the price, making it a delicious excuse to return-especially when paired with a bit of shopping nearby.

Dalia, Rébecca, and Chandni recently visited T'Ami, a cozy and authentic Vietnamese BYOB restaurant that quickly won them over. From the moment they stepped in, they were welcomed with warmth and care, setting the tone for an evening that felt both comforting and special. They shared a variety of standout dishes, starting with the Bánh Tôm Hà Nội, crispy Hanoi-style shrimp fritters that were light, crunchy, and full of flavour. Another favourite was the Bánh Hỏi Bò Nướng Lá Lốt, soft vermicelli paired with grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves. Juicy, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned, this dish was a hit at the table. Rébecca was especially excited to see Bánh Mỳ Chảo on the menu, a nostalgic breakfast dish for her, made extra memorable with the house-made pâté. To end the meal, they all shared the Chè Ba Màu, a colourful mix of ice slush, soft beans, and jelly. Though Dalia and Chandni were a bit hesitant at first, they ended up loving it, sweet, refreshing, and surprisingly addictive. Dalia also tried the Vietnamese egg coffee for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how rich, creamy, and strong it was.
For Chandni, what made the experience extra special was the kind service and the lovely owner, Thuy Tam, who truly makes you feel at home. Whether it's your first visit or your second, like it was for her, T'Ami delivers not just in flavour but in heart. It's no wonder this little gem has earned a spot on their list of favourites.

Dalia and Chandni were both excited to finally check out Eva's at Royalmount, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Dalia started her brunch with a smooth Espresso Martini while soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the laid-back vibes of the space. She went for the Hightower, a hearty plate stacked with pancakes, eggs, toast, fruit, and sausages-everything you need to kick off a Sunday right. Her husband opted for the chicken and waffles, and it was a standout. The crispy, well-seasoned fried chicken on a golden waffle, topped with fresh berries and a drizzle of maple syrup, was a perfect balance of crunchy and fluffy, sweet and savory. Eva's serves brunch every day, so you don't have to wait for the weekend to treat yourself. Chandni, who had heard so much about the place, finally got the chance to try it herself. She started with a Porn Star Martini, and for her main, she chose the steak and fries. The steak was cooked to perfection-tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious, while the fries were crispy and addictive. She now completely understands the buzz around Eva's. Both of them left with satisfied stomachs and plans to return!

La P'tite Bouchée, located on the Main, offers a unique and flavorful small bites concept that's perfect for when you're not super hungry or just want to sample a variety of dishes. Dalia and Chandni had the pleasure of trying their new menu items, the poutine, shrimp bowl, and sweet chicken bowl each packed with bold, satisfying flavors. They also enjoyed some of their beloved classics, like the famous fattoush salad served inside crispy fried bread, which they happily devoured, and the kaak, which was another big hit at the table. To end on a sweet note, Dalia and Chandni sampled a selection of their bite-sized desserts, their favorite being the cheesecake with kunafa, a perfect mix of creamy and crunchy. Whether you're in the mood for a light bite or want to share and explore different flavors, La P'tite Bouchée has something for everyone.

Dalia was excited to try the first edition of Terrebonne Mascouche à table! She visited Les Fous-Braques, one of the 23 participating restaurants, and indulged in a delicious three-course menu at an unbeatable price. Since the sun was out and the weather was warm, she and her husband started with some refreshing cocktails, soaking in the summer vibes. From appetizers to desserts, everything was outstanding. The shrimp had a bold Indian flair, and the octopus in miso and mushroom broth was out of this world. The mains were just as impressive-the bison and beef cheek were incredibly tender and juicy. The portions were generous, so even though they were already full, they still managed a few bites of dessert (because priorities). Dalia absolutely loved the deconstructed red velvet, and the tres leches cake was creamy, dreamy, and a total win. This little gem in Mascouche is definitely worth the drive!
