I had the bruschetta with feta, the calamari & the tortellini a la Contessa. The bruschetta was perfect. I've never had such a well-balanced bruschetta with a crostini so perfectly sliced & with just the right amount of crispiness to it that there's a crunch without cutting up your mouth. The calamari was just firm enough without being chewy & the breading was perfectly seasoned & melts in your mouth. The veal tortellini was impeccable; you can really tell they make their own pasta & sauces from scratch. The service was fast & delightful, the food was amazing, this is definitely a place you have to check out if you love good Italian food & one of the best restaurants in Montreal period.
Food was great. Atmosphere was nice i've been in restaurant industry for almost 30 years ftom waitering to bck of the house. Evrryone has their off days but when customers are smiling at waitress to try & get a glimmer its kinda ridiculous most attention we got was when she was litterally standing over my brother when he was paying bill. No suprise we got our first smile. FYI first complant of my life because it was sorely deserved.
Came here to see the myth the legend steve himself & left screaming Vivaldi 🗣? in the robot voice after polishing a few bottiglia di vino & nu champagne. Brudder the best gnocchi ever !!! Gorgonzola e forte then you cut it with a little sip of wine, gnocchi, wine, gnocchi, wine , gnocchi, wine, Vivaldi !! 🤖 . Everything top only one thing big steve id like to say is the liver dish the brown sauce is too much bello maybe just leave the liver naked w some Spanish onions & butter but everything else was amazing will definitely be coming back with the boys !!!!
Place was absolutely packed on a Saturday evening. Had the table d'hôte with the chicken de la casa.
Complementary bread was nice, mini ciabattas.
Appetizer I chose was an eggplant parmesan, pretty good app. It cost an extra 5 bucks though, but a nice try.
Chicken was nice, in a creamy sauce with white wine, green onions & roasted red peppers. Nice, savoury yet not heavy. Veggie & potato side was nice, with potatoes nicely seasoned.
The chocolate cake, though, it absolutely felt like the right choice to get: nice & moist, with a rich chocolate flavour, & especially not overly sweet.
Finally, the tea was a nice finisher.
Quality of service was exceptional, with the wait staff being very attentive & courteous to customers.
If one is in the Montréal area & able to make the trip to the West Island, as well as willing to pay around 40-50 bucks a person, then I would suggest having a dinner at Vivaldi. The place has a good reputation on social media, & not for no reason.
This place is on my bucket list! When i have time to drive from Buffalo NY I hope to meet Steve, Spero & the crew.
The food is excellent. The service is excellent. The wine is up to you. Always a great evening.
Wonderful food & service! Portions are large, & there's lots to choose from. Chef Steve is super kind, comes to every table to say hello when he can, so it makes for a fun night.
Food & service was top notch. Wife said it was the best seafood linguine she has ever had. & shes had it alot....
