With a passion for restaurants and more than 30 years of experience in the food industry, Papa Elie and his son Ziad were able to create a unique family business: ZEEZ.
Ziad began his career at hospitality school and pursued a specialization in culinary arts at the Paul Bocuse Institute in France to later work in the most prestigious hotels and restaurants. Ziad is the creator of the ZEEZ menu and is responsible for quality assurance. Filled with energy and passion, you will always see him dedicated to providing the best customer service.

Visited ZEEZ on a whim & it has quickly become a new favorite burger spot in the Plateau. This hole in the wall offers a small selection of double smash burgers & sides done well.
The classic smash burger fills all cravings for a really good burger. The patties are smashed thin & cooked until crispy. The whole, with the steamed brioche buns, melted American cheese & sauce, turns into one soft meaty homogenous mass. Dirty & terribly indulgent, but delicious.
ZEEZ has gained much popularity since its inception & a line often forms. Regardless, the wait is worth it for a fresh burger done very well at affordable prices. I look forward to coming back to try all that they have to offer.View more

FOOD: I had the Mushroom Melt (tripple) smash burger & an order of the Zeez Potatoes w/crispy chicken pieces as a protein topping. The burger was juicy, flavorful & filling. The bun was OK/good but nothig special there. I'll give it an overall solid 8.5 out of 10. The Zeez potatoes though fell a bit short for me as it wasn't crispy at all, it had bits of a cut-up yellow processed cheddar cheese that was not melted on it & the'spicy' sauce has not kick nor was it'flavorful'. I'll give this an overall 6.5 (I'd recommend the smashed potatoes by itself though.
SERVICE:, the young lady serving was nice but it wasn't busy at the counter (we were there at 5:05) but I watched as my burger & potatoes orders were ready & just stood there for 6mins18seconds (on the counter) until I finally made eye-contact with here before she called me up to take my order (her priorities were incoming orders from online orders, I guess)..
ATMOSPHERE: Hard to judge as it wasn't super busy & it's really a small whole in the wall restaurant but I'll give it the 4 stars here since it serves its purpose & should not be dinged for it.
I'd definitely recommend the burgers -we were a party of 3 & we had 4 diff burgers & we enjoyed them all. I'd also recommend the fries only (not the poutine as I found the sauce lacking...but I did not go for their poutine anyways) & also recommend the smashed potatoes (not the Zees Potatoes with the sauce & protrin toppings..).View more

The burger was super delicious. I would say its my favorite smash burger & def a lot cheaper than other spots in Montreal. The service was amazing as well, whoever worked the cash tonight made the experience 10x better. I would definitely go again!! We had the Classic double beef , the chili crisp & BBQ beef burger & a smash potato . Highlight was defenetly the chili crisp & the potatos. I can't explain how crispy & yet super juicy the meat is , it's like no other smash burger out there . Absolutly delicious. & the smash potato fries was an awesome new way to have''fries'' , we loved it. I absolutly recommend. If you try the BBQ burger, I suggest you go with the crispy chicken instead of beef.. just a recommendation here ! I wouldn't classify this burger as a smash burger as it was quite big & missing the crispy edges around a thin beef patty. HOWEVER, it was a fantastic burger. I especially liked that it was not so greasy & had a perfect amount of sauce. The bun was soft & buttery. We also tried the zeez smash potatoes. Loaded with topics. Again, fantastic! Small casse-croûte with a few seats. Can get quite crowded but great for a quick bite.View more

Petit resto de smash burger sur le plateau avec environ 6 places assises au comptoir à l'intérieur. Le service était très agréable & courtois... Honnêtement ça fait du bien parce qu'à Montréal on trouve plus beaucoup de service! On a essayer le classique & le BBQ avec les smash potatoes & je vous conseille d'essayer leur moutarde qui est délicieuse! Petit bémol, la musique un peu trop forte & non nécessaire dans ce genre de petite place. Really enjoyed this place. Went with a friend. She got the Chili burger (which was recommended by the owner) & I went with the classic. I liked the simplicity of mine but the bite I sampled of my friend's had a nice, light hit of heat. Our burgers more juicy than crispy as you'd expect for a smash burger, but still tasty, so that's not a complaint. But just be aware. As a side we each ordered the smashed potatoes. They generally come with mustard sauce, but I got an extra spicy sauce, & my friend got an extra house sauce (offered at no charge). I would say my favourite was the mustard, spicy & then the house. All 3 were good, so go with your preference. We were offered a sample of the moka pudding (made in-house) which was excellent (assuming you like sweet things). The owner was super friendly & welcoming, which is rare for this type of place. The place is tiny, but they make the most of the space to offer seating. Oh & free (good quality) popcorn.
