Je voulais vraiment aimer cet endroit mais malheureusement la nourriture était extrêmement décevante…Les sushis étaient caoutchouteux & sans goût, & le steak était entouré de gras & n'étais pas tendre du tout malgré une cuisson medium rare. Par contre rien à dire pour le service & l'ambiance qui était très bien, mais si vous y aller pour bien manger ce n'est pas le bon endroit pour vous.
Zama est vraiment l'un de mes restaurants/Clubs préférés à Montréal! Le décor est magnifique, la musique est toujours agréable & l'ambiance est incroyable chaque fois que j'y vais. La nourriture est délicieuse du début à la fin, & leurs cocktails signature sont vraiment parmi les meilleurs en ville. Je recommande cet endroit à 100 %, que ce soit pour sortir entre amis ou pour une belle soirée.
I had a phenomenal birthday dinner at Zama. The cocktail selection is divine & I thoroughly enjoyed the fusion food menu. Everything from the service to the party vibes were just immaculate. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience in a swanky atmosphere.
The food was good, my tuna tartare sushi was delicious & beautifully presented. The service itself was slow, but the servers were friendly & attentive, checking in often to make sure we had everything we needed. The interior is charming but small, & once events begin or dinner services overlap, the space becomes crowded & a bit chaotic.
Despite the good food, I personally wouldn't return because of how poorly the jacket situation was handled. When I went to pick up my jacket, I handed the woman my tiny paper slip with the number on it. She immediately asked if I had'a ticket for the event', which confused me since it was my first time there & I thought the slip was the ticket. When I said no, she told me I had to pay $25. It caught me off guard, but at that point I just wanted to pay the fee & leave. However, the way she spoke to me was unnecessarily rude.
When I tried to pay by card, she quickly snapped that they only accept cash. I couldn't even call my friends down to help because she said they wouldn't be allowed upstairs again. I understand it might partly be our mistake for not knowing about the $25 fee or the cash requirement, but we weren't there for the event. They seated us before the event even started. We were simply there for our dinner reservation. If we had been told that staying past a certain time would trigger an event fee, we absolutely would have left earlier. None of this was mentionned anywhere, certainly not from the servers either.
It would be so much better if the restaurant made these policies clear when people book reservations. That entire incident with the the White lady in the jacket station completely spoiled our night. Overall, the food & ambiance were great, but the rude handling of the event fee was enough to ruin the experience for me.
I had such a great experience at Zama! The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were friendly & attentive, & the food & drinks were amazing. Everything felt well organized & welcoming. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for anyone looking for good vibes, great service, & a fun night out.

Zama Montreal is an absolute favorite, The food is incredible, full of flavor, & always fresh. The service is super friendly, & every dish feels made with care. Honestly, a solid 10/10. highly recommend!
