Je voulais vraiment aimer cet endroit mais malheureusement la nourriture était extrêmement décevante…Les sushis étaient caoutchouteux & sans goût, & le steak était entouré de gras & n'étais pas tendre du tout malgré une cuisson medium rare. Par contre rien à dire pour le service & l'ambiance qui était très bien, mais si vous y aller pour bien manger ce n'est pas le bon endroit pour vous.
The food was good, my tuna tartare sushi was delicious & beautifully presented. The service itself was slow, but the servers were friendly & attentive, checking in often to make sure we had everything we needed. The interior is charming but small, & once events begin or dinner services overlap, the space becomes crowded & a bit chaotic.
Despite the good food, I personally wouldn't return because of how poorly the jacket situation was handled. When I went to pick up my jacket, I handed the woman my tiny paper slip with the number on it. She immediately asked if I had'a ticket for the event', which confused me since it was my first time there & I thought the slip was the ticket. When I said no, she told me I had to pay $25. It caught me off guard, but at that point I just wanted to pay the fee & leave. However, the way she spoke to me was unnecessarily rude.
When I tried to pay by card, she quickly snapped that they only accept cash. I couldn't even call my friends down to help because she said they wouldn't be allowed upstairs again. I understand it might partly be our mistake for not knowing about the $25 fee or the cash requirement, but we weren't there for the event. They seated us before the event even started. We were simply there for our dinner reservation. If we had been told that staying past a certain time would trigger an event fee, we absolutely would have left earlier. None of this was mentionned anywhere, certainly not from the servers either.
It would be so much better if the restaurant made these policies clear when people book reservations. That entire incident with the the White lady in the jacket station completely spoiled our night. Overall, the food & ambiance were great, but the rude handling of the event fee was enough to ruin the experience for me.
Zama is an absolute gem on St-Laurent Blvd! The mix of Japanese & Mexican flavors is super well done ,every dish is creative, fresh, & full of flavor. You can really tell a lot of thought went into the menu. The tacos & sushi-inspired plates are a must try!
The ambiance & decor are next level; modern, stylish, & totally unique, especially for this area. It's refreshing to see something new & different on the Blvd. Perfect spot for a night out, whether you're grabbing drinks or having a full meal
Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fresh, exciting dining experience in Montreal!

L'endroit est vraiment charmant, dès qu'on entre, une belle odeur nous accueille. L'ambiance est très agréable avec ses lumières tamisées & les petites bougies sur les tables qui créent une atmosphère confortable & intime. Cependant, la nourriture laisse à désirer. Les sushis, par exemple, ont une couche de riz beaucoup trop épaisse, ce qui masque complètement la saveur des autres ingrédients. Cela donne l'impression que l'accent est davantage mis sur la décoration & l'ambiance que sur la qualité de la cuisine. Si vous cherchez un endroit pour profiter d'un joli cadre, c'est une bonne adresse, mais si vous venez pour une expérience culinaire, vous pourriez être déçu.
Ce plat est un pur chef-d'oeuvre qui attire immédiatement l'oeil. Chaque rouleau de sushi est un équilibre parfait entre finesse & générosité, comme si chaque détail avait été pensé pour séduire. Le caviar noir, brillant & audacieux, apporte une touche de luxe, tandis que les micro-pousses & la fleur comestible ajoutent une dimension naturelle & vibrante qui rend l'assiette vivante. Les sauces, appliquées avec une précision presque artistique, ne sont pas juste des décorations : elles racontent une histoire, invitant à explorer chaque bouchée avec curiosité. Le contraste des couleurs entre l'assiette sombre & les ingrédients éclatants est tout simplement magnétique. C'est le genre de plat qui ne se contente pas d'être bon - il crée une expérience. On a envie de plonger dedans, de savourer chaque détail, & surtout, de ne jamais oublier ce moment. Une vraie déclaration d'amour à l'art culinaire !
Place is beautiful, tacos & sushi are a must! An Absoutely delightful dining experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm & inviting. The service was impeccable - our server was attentive, knowledgeable, & friendly. The food was truly exceptional. The presentation was also exquisite, making the dish as beautiful to look at as it was to eat. The cocktails were also fantastic - creative & expertly mixed. Overall, we had a fantastic evening & would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
Really nice place, with very delicious meals out there, I tried sushi & tacos & both were perfect!! Also they have some kind of night club after 11 pm there with some regaeton, salsa & bachata music. Definetely recommend this place
Tuvimos una cena extraordinaria en Zama, comimos un sushi "mango ceviche roll" delicioso. Cassandra fue nuestra mesera una chica muy gentil que nos presto un excelente servicio... Fue genial!!!
