A hidden gem in Montreal. The sushi is incredibly fresh & flavorful, offering great value for the price. The atmosphere is very cozy & the staff is super helpful. This is my go-to for authentic Japanese food.
It was just okay for me. Tap water in fancy bottle. My Oyakodon was warm & I had to spit out 4 pieces of tough tendon in the chicken pieces & it felt like they might've microwaved it too.
I was able to enjoy a wide variety of meats at a reasonable price, without any restrictions. The atmosphere was also very classy & clean.
A restaurant that works for every occasion - from a quick lunch to a more elevated dinner, from casual gatherings to a date night. After exploring countless Japanese restaurants across Montreal, this one stands out as a true hidden gem.
I came back to this restaurant after a couple of years because I used to really like it, but I was quite disappointed this time. The portions are a lot smaller than before, yet the prices have gone up noticeably. On top of that, one of the servers seemed quite unfriendly, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable. I don't think I'll be coming back again.
Food was good, & fresh (sushi & tartare). Service was ok (on Asian restaurant scale). Overall good cosy place for the price.
The itoshi ai maki, the uramaki hamachi shichimi, & ebi chizu Maki were all delicious.
The foie gras unadon was disappointing though. The sauce wasn't great (too sweet) & the foie gras should be blended in or at least in smaller pieces.
We've already visited this place three times since it's been open & absolutely loved it! The food is excellent - the closest we've found to what you can get in Japan. The only thing we wish for, though it might not matter to everyone, is a bit more child-friendly touch. Traveling to Japan made us appreciate how family-oriented their culture is, so it would be wonderful to see small steps for kids in the washroom & booster seats for toddlers here.
