Great pizza & poutine. This is my friend's favorite place to go when we visit Montreal.
He brings 5 large pizzas home with him each time we go.View more

Très déçu...View more

I have been ordering from Woodland's since childhood. It will always hold a special place in my heart. They have recently altered their pizza & poutine sauces slightly, but the food still brings back that old nostalgic feeling.View more

We ordered from Woodlands & got pork souvlakis & a poutine. The souvlakis were very good, the pork tender & the souvlakis tasty & filling. They make "poutine" the regular way, with cheese curds & gravy, & oven baked, which seems to be a mozzarella style cheese. Now I'm sorry, but french fries with sauce gratiné is NOT a poutine. The consistency & taste is all off. We specifically ordered a regular normal poutine but received an oven baked version which was disappointing. That's why 3 stars for an otherwise satisfactory meal. They failed in accuracy & a baked cheese covered pile of fries & sauce just isn't a Quebec style poutine.

So I placed a very simple order for delivery over the phone tonight. My order, phone number, & address we confirmed 2-3 times over the phone. We waited for our order for over an hour & my girlfriend called back to see what the status was. The person was very rude to her. I called back with the intention of giving the benefit of the doubt & I was told that apparently the driver had called me 7 times & gave up. Then they told me that their drivers have gone home & there is nothing they would do. I had not received a single phone call what-so-ever. I told the person that & he proceeded to contradict me implying that I'm a liar. I told him to repeat the number that was called & he gave me a completely different number & told me that the driver had confirmed with me several times that that was my number. Then he told me that he went to a completely different address that I provided on file. Then he followed up assuring me that they're closed & there's nothing they're going to do.

I received no apology what so ever. I was rudely told that they're not going to do anything about this. I was spoken down to & insulted. They really seem to have no problems at all with loosing customers & their customer service is atrocious.

This is an incredibly unprofessional establishment in my opinion. This is not the first time I've had experiences like this (every so often when I would place an order, they would just outright refuse to deliver to my place because of reasons like "traffic" or "construction"...there's been times they just didn't take our order properly & hung up before we were finished & when we'd call back to clarify & were given attitude, just silliness like that). The food isn't good enough to warrant not counting on your food arriving because they feel like not delivering but at least they used to tell me if they felt like delivering to me so I had the opportunity to order somewhere else. On top of all this, they recently raised their prices. All that was really necessary was an apology. My girlfriend & I weren't rude at all when we called back until I was spoken to in the manner I was solely for following up on an order I had placed like anyone else would have. I really don't know why these people have a problem with doing their jobs properly but it's the last time they enjoy the benefits of my patronage.

I've also heard from other people who live near this restaurant that when attractive women walk by their windows, they do things like tap on the glass to get their attention & generally make them feel uncomfortable - kind of like cat calling. I've never personally seen this but then again - I'm a male.

Anyways, I'm obviously offended enough to write a negative review of several paragraphs. There's a ton of pizza-poutine-sub type restos in the Verdun area. Save your money & order from somewhere where they will actually deliver to you consistently, & will admit they were wrong & apologize when they've made a mistake. A simple honest "sorry" was all that was required.
