Great service & atmosphere. Had some drinks. Sadly no vegan options so had to go eat elsewhere
Was the greatest Montreal bar I've ever been in. Mostly in part to Alex our bartender. Great service & overly friendly, this guy needs a raise! Drinks are amazing & the vibe is unrivaled!!! Please go & if you get Alex as your bartender know that your in for a great evening
We were seated without being given menus, & after trying to find a server, we finally received them. We ordered an appetizer & asked for it to be served together with the kids' meals, but instead the wrong food was brought to our table.
The kids' meals arrived much later, so our family couldn't eat together. Throughout the meal, we had to keep looking for someone just to get water. Even after asking, no one brought it. It wasn't until we had asked three different servers that we finally received water.
Overall, the service was very disorganized & disappointing. We spent more time trying to find staff than enjoying our meal.
We were walking around Old Montreal & decided it was time to grab a bite, but we weren't sure where to go. There are so many restaurants & pubs practically every few meters that choosing one can be surprisingly difficult. We spotted this pub, noticed the good reviews, & decided to give it a try - & boy, was that the right choice!
The hostess was a little strict but still very nice. She showed us to our table, & our waitress came over almost immediately with the menus & water, which was served from a really interesting bottle.
We ordered the Beef Stroganoff Pie with red wine sauce & the Steelhead Trout with leek risotto. We also got a beer, which paired wonderfully with the food.
The food was absolutely amazing. Both dishes were incredibly tender & practically melted in our mouths, with so many different textures & layers of flavor. Every bite was a real pleasure.
A few words about the place itself: everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly & smiling, & the service was excellent. The interior is very unique - it almost feels like you're dining inside an antique shop, with vintage items, chandeliers, large paintings, & mirrors everywhere. At first, it looks like a beautiful, organized chaos, but somehow everything comes together to create a warm, cozy, & welcoming atmosphere.
I highly recommend this pub to anyone visiting Montreal. It's definitely worth a stop when you're exploring Old Montreal!
Didn't eat but the drinks were out of this world. Best whiskey sour. Great atmosphere. Lots of nooks for seating so the loudness doesn't drown out your conversations.
Disappointed. Was expecting more. It's a tourist trap.
Food was good, but nothing to rave about. Service was adequate. But what pissed me off was that they calculated the tip using the total amount that includes tax! Why they expect me to tip tax, I don't understand.
