We were able to be seated right away when everything else seemed to have a wait. Greatly enjoyed their specialty the pot pie.
Once we got to the terasse it was a lovely experience. Went on a Thursday evening around 6pm & the DJ made it a bit overstimulating inside, as they were very loud. Good music choices though!
Food itself was absolutely delicious. I had the W&W burger, cooked to spec at medium temp. My partner was there for the pie, but while we were waiting at the bar for our table, saw & smelled the tikka masala & couldnt resist. He said he didn't regret the switch at all.
Overall wonderful experience, great prices, & lovely, attentive staff. So so loud inside though. So loud.
A staple in my favourite Montreal spots. It always hits - whether for a drink after work, weekend brunch, or dinner weeknights or the weekend. The food is consistent, the staff is friendly, & it's always a good time. If you're going for brunch, you need to order the bacon blueberry pancakes. In my opinion, these are some of the best pancakes in the city. The scotch egg, burger, & chicken pot pie are also menu items I consistently go back to.
We were walking around Old Montreal & decided it was time to grab a bite, but we weren't sure where to go. There are so many restaurants & pubs practically every few meters that choosing one can be surprisingly difficult. We spotted this pub, noticed the good reviews, & decided to give it a try - & boy, was that the right choice!
The hostess was a little strict but still very nice. She showed us to our table, & our waitress came over almost immediately with the menus & water, which was served from a really interesting bottle.
We ordered the Beef Stroganoff Pie with red wine sauce & the Steelhead Trout with leek risotto. We also got a beer, which paired wonderfully with the food.
The food was absolutely amazing. Both dishes were incredibly tender & practically melted in our mouths, with so many different textures & layers of flavor. Every bite was a real pleasure.
A few words about the place itself: everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly & smiling, & the service was excellent. The interior is very unique - it almost feels like you're dining inside an antique shop, with vintage items, chandeliers, large paintings, & mirrors everywhere. At first, it looks like a beautiful, organized chaos, but somehow everything comes together to create a warm, cozy, & welcoming atmosphere.
I highly recommend this pub to anyone visiting Montreal. It's definitely worth a stop when you're exploring Old Montreal!
Amazing service & atmosphere. Drinks are smooth & the chicken pot pie was the best I've ever had.
We were disappointed with our experience. The French fries were overcooked & too crispy. The burger had barely any vegetables-just a tiny piece of lettuce-& the patty was much smaller than expected. We ordered it medium, but it came well done. The side green salad was also very small & overly salty. Overall, the portions were small, & the meal didn't meet our expectations.
The back yard was cool though!
We loved the service, appetizers, & chicken pot pie. Look forward to trying the meat pot pie! Great atmosphere & music.
