Great pub, really enjoyed the atmosphere & food. Waitress forgot my drink, for 15 minutes, until I finally managed to catch her eye, I guess it happens.
We were walking around Old Montreal & decided it was time to grab a bite, but we weren't sure where to go. There are so many restaurants & pubs practically every few meters that choosing one can be surprisingly difficult. We spotted this pub, noticed the good reviews, & decided to give it a try - & boy, was that the right choice!
The hostess was a little strict but still very nice. She showed us to our table, & our waitress came over almost immediately with the menus & water, which was served from a really interesting bottle.
We ordered the Beef Stroganoff Pie with red wine sauce & the Steelhead Trout with leek risotto. We also got a beer, which paired wonderfully with the food.
The food was absolutely amazing. Both dishes were incredibly tender & practically melted in our mouths, with so many different textures & layers of flavor. Every bite was a real pleasure.
A few words about the place itself: everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly & smiling, & the service was excellent. The interior is very unique - it almost feels like you're dining inside an antique shop, with vintage items, chandeliers, large paintings, & mirrors everywhere. At first, it looks like a beautiful, organized chaos, but somehow everything comes together to create a warm, cozy, & welcoming atmosphere.
I highly recommend this pub to anyone visiting Montreal. It's definitely worth a stop when you're exploring Old Montreal!
Went there without a reservation & was told there was room at the bar to sit, & that people would be leaving in one minute so we could get a table. We ended up waiting 20 minutes standing without anyone ever getting back to us or making a table available. Wanted to sit & enjoy a nice time & simply couldn't!
This unfortunate experience really shows the disappointing level of service at this pub.
A place to avoid if you expect basic organization & follow-through.
We had a wonderful family meal at Pub Wolf & Workman while visiting Old Montreal. We were travelling as a family of four with our dog, & the staff could not have been more welcoming or accommodating.
We sat on the back patio, which felt like a peaceful hidden courtyard away from the busy streets. It had a cozy, relaxed atmosphere & was the perfect place to enjoy a meal with the family. Everyone was incredibly friendly toward our dog, which made us feel completely comfortable & allowed us to truly relax & enjoy our time there.
The food was delicious, the service was warm & attentive, & the pub itself had so much character. It was a great family-friendly dining experience in the heart of Old Montreal & one of the highlights of our visit.
We would definitely return the next time we are in Montreal, especially with our dog. Highly recommended!
Quaint little pub, amazing food. Scotch egg starter was gorgeous. Lamb chops really nice. Good atmosphere & service with stunning food, a must visit if in old Montreal & great value for money.
Discovered on the last day of the trip, wish I'd found it sooner, one of the best pubs for sitting at the bar & watching the football, good choice of beers, really good service from all the staff.
