Review Summary

Overall, reviews of Wok en Folie show a generally positive impression with fresh flavors, generous portions, and friendly service, though a few visits note inconsistencies such as greasy meat or dishes that arrive small or overpriced. Many praise the General Tao chicken for big chunks of meat with light batter, the pepper chicken, and the hot and sour soup, and they value the lunch specials that come with a soup and a spring roll. The lo mein and other Cantonese noodles are described as tasty, and multiple diners mention fast, courteous service and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Several reviewers commend the new ownership for improvements and the overall good value, while others recount experiences with dumplings that were not pan fried but microwaved and with sweet and sour chicken that was mushy. Some feedback highlights abundant portions and reliable flavors, whereas a few orders miss the mark, making the experience feel variable. Taken together, Wok en Folie is regarded as a solid option for Chinese takeout and casual dining, with frequent mentions of generosity, reasonable prices, and a neighborhood friendly vibe.

First time visitor to this restaurant. Owner took it over for a year. We were warmly seated at our table & our waitress was kind & efficient. I had the hot & sour soup which came with my combo meal & which was delicious. Nice pieces of tofu along with the traditional vegetables. Soup was hot in temperature & perfectly spicy for me. I had the combo plate of chicken with black bean sauce & passed on the rice so they were kind enough to substitute it for a veggie medley which I appreciated. The vegetables were delicious & the chicken was good but found the plate was sweeter than a traditional black bean chicken would be. I think they need to use more black bean sauce. I tried the general Tao & it was very good. Nice pieces of white meat which you rarely see in a Chinese restaurant. Not sure why they were so quiet on a Friday night but I think they need to promote their place more to get people in since the food & service are good. Recommended.

This is our experience as a 1st time patrons reading reviews which sounded great. Your experience can be far better than ours, on our order we found the portions small & expensive. General Tao much too fried & was tuff, with a hint of sauce - so disappointed as we had to fight chewing this dish. The Pepper chicken was good & chicken was tender but a bit salty after a few bites. The mixed vegetables in sauce was nice & tasty & was the best of what we received. I hope your order comes out better.
