Quick little trip to Asia? Why not! Vua Sandwiches offers you the opportunity to experience the delights of Asia with items already prepared for take out or can be prepared fresh right in front of you!
Vua Sandwichs is a budget friendly spot popular with students, offering strong value on sushi and dumplings and excellent banh mi made to order, with a wide takeout menu that includes fresh sushi platters and onigiri and discounts on leftovers or after hours deals. The space is small so takeout is recommended, and service is fast and often friendly, with frequent late night specials that add appeal. While many reviews praise the quality for the price and the variety of options, some items disappoint, including banh mi and bread that can be tough or not very authentic, bubble tea that can be too sweet, and a few reports of illness after meals, so patrons should be aware even as the overall mix of affordable, tasty dishes keeps the place popular.
I like the avocado rolls, so do many... They have an array of modern sushi to go & some rice/meat dishes as well. The pudding is great, tapioca all the way. The green one is the best. It's actually a Vietnamese sandwich place. In warmer months the outdoor street level sitting area is ideal for people watching on St.Denis. Eat your sushi while others in neighborhing restos pay more & wait. Lots of birds you can feed by just leaving some rice on the table. So cute! After 9 pm all the pre cooked food is like 40% cheaper, unless things have changed. Of course the selection is limited but good to know, right. Not street level, basement. There's stairs, no handicap facility. Update 2023: Shrinkflation, call it what you will. They serve less portions of the sushi & charge more per package. I've stopped going altogether & reduced it to 3 stars. Real shame.

I looooveeeeeeeee VUA!!!!! IM SO GLAD it didnt shut down during covid. This place kept me fed during my college years & hard days. It is even more fresh than i remembered. Workers are super sweet too. I prefer taking it to go though it can feel cramped up sometimes. Cheaper & fresher than getting subway or mcds. They also have sushis Poke Rise kombushas
Mon restaurant préféré de Banh mi vietnamien authentique. Il y a beaucoup de choix & vous pouvez également avoir un rabais sur tout les repas préparer après 21h, je recommande fortement. 👌
Banh mi are pretty good, I like the sauce & bread they use. They have a lot of meat choice. Very inexpensive, & filling, also filled with nice veggies. Did not expect these Banh mi to be good, happily surprised.
Bubble tea is fine, not the best not the worst. They use powders, but theirs is like 1 or 2 bucks cheaper than the bubble tea brands so not a bad deal.
The outside is sort of dirty & not quite pretty, but at least they got chairs, & the vibe is fine. Also I guess its dirty because a lot of people come to eat?
Everyone coming inside seemed happy. I think its very practical for Uni student, since they have a lot of drink choices, snacks & even premade meals, such as sushi, salads. They also have some sort of Coffee/tea jelly desserts. So its like a mini supermarket very practical.
The people preparing the food are very efficient & fast, & theyre generous with their meat, they dont cut it so thinly.
With 2 drinks & 2 sandwiches it was around ~20$ so very cheap
I got two 10” banhmi to go, they tasted pretty good! (#1 Dac Biet, #8 Nem Nuong). A bit different flavour profile than what I’m used to in Vancouver. I liked that their fish sauce mayo with the red onions made the sandwich taste a balanced of sweet & savoury. I would come back & order different banhmi to try.
I ordered a vegetarian banh mi today through uber eat & the one i recieved has bacon & meat spread . When i called the resto to ask them of what happened they told me to go & deal with uber to get my refund without even apologizing !.. when i said im already in my lunch time & i dont have time & i dont know how to do it through app , he said that every one else knows how to do it , its you that you don't know it ! & he hang up on me. They call me back in 5 minutes & told me we reviewed your order & you wanted a vegetarian. & i told him well thats the whole point of it that you didn't send me the one i ordered! & he said i cant believe it so take a photo & send it to my phone & i asked im alredy wasting my few minutes of my lunch time on cominicating with uber so why should i send you the photo & he said If its true ( suggesting im lying) i want to show it to my employees so it dosent happen again ! Its so ridiculous how they are so unprofessional & rude !

Best Vietnamese sandwiches! No matter what I take its always delicious. Even the little sushi's & premade plates. Be sure to try the chicken balls at the cash. They are amazing!
