Village Grec emerges in these reviews as an authentic old school Greek spot with a warm, unpretentious vibe and generous portions. The gyros and souvlaki are repeatedly praised for tender meat, rich tzatziki, and pita that stays soft, with many noting the flavor as among the best in Montreal. The atmosphere is described as nostalgic and welcoming, with friendly staff and a sense of tradition that keeps regulars coming back and even visitors seeking a taste of Greece. Takeout and outdoor seating add convenience, and prices are commonly seen as very good value for the portion and quality. While most experiences highlight consistency and depth of flavor, a few comments mention slower service or occasional dips in quality and a couple of items not meeting expectations, such as fries or salad. The menu also features salads with feta, grilled skewers, lemon roasted potatoes, and baklava, with reviewers praising freshness and straightforward preparation. Overall, Village Grec is viewed as a reliable Montreal staple that delivers authentic Greek cuisine, strong portions, and friendly service, making it a top choice for both longtime fans and curious visitors.
AMAZING authentic delicious Greek food, friendly staff, great prices & portions. Heard about this place on the radio thanks @mikecohen for the recommendation & would 10/10 recommend to ALL 🙌🏽
Village Grec has the best Donner plate on the planet. It's truly'hungry man' food. Be warned, it's a huge serving that can feed a small family, but you are guaranteed to fall asleep after & have the most delightful dreams.

Long time customer but not returning. Very noticeable drop off in food quality & service. Entree & main served at the
same time. Tzatziki entrée came without the usual Kalamata olives & oregano, tasteless tzatziki, & 3 slices of burnt bread for two. Gyro pita wasn't as good or generous as it used to be.
Une des meilleurs places pour commander des gyros. Ce n'est pas la meilleur place pour manger sur place par contre. Malgré ça, je recommande d'y aller.

Been going to this place for more than 10 years, always order the doner pita, the best pita in town Edit: it is now 2021 & i still go to this place for my pita fix Edit 2: moving to the usa in 2024, went to this place one last time
Greek food has always been a favorite of mine, I've found it more scarce in Montreal than Toronto to my dismay. This restaurant presents everything that makes me love dining at Greek restaurants- big portions for fair prices, great service & generally delicious food. I went for a Gyro platter. The pita was absolutely perfect. I asked for extra onion & got the exact % extra I was aiming for. The rice & salad were a bit plain but didn't need to be stars of the show. I prefer crushed feta for the salad. Amazing fries too. The tenure of this place speaks for itself, the walls are lined with photos of C-D List celebrities that have dined there. The old school wood theme brings comfort along with the food.
