TL;DR: pickled carrots looked weeks old & had weird chemical taste.
This place supplies the banh mi at T&T & recently the quality has just been going down. I usually get the Cha Lua one & while the taste was decent before, it's now bland & dry, barely any mayo or pate, & the one I got last week had carrots & radish that definitely weren't fresh & had a weird chemical taste. Never bought one from the actual store so not going to badly rate the service & atmosphere, but definitely not going to buy one of those T&T ones again.
Quite disappointed..
Waited 40 minutes to get 2 pad Thai meals.. & they weren't very good.. not enough sauce. Not worth $18/each..
Overall, not coming back.
Take out only yet they have a debit machine asking for tips.
For the last years I'd go get tje spring rolls each months or so.
Last month, noticed that my regular order of 4 spring rolls were packaged differently. Instead of having 2 rolls per box plus peanut sauce, they packed all 4 rolls +sauce in a slightly bigger box. Got home & I was shocked at the thinness of the spring rolls. I mean, this gives a new meaning to shrinkflation.
Before I could get 4 rolls, 2 for lunch & 2 for dinner & feel full, now I can chow down all 4 in one setting.
Today, 2 of the 4 peanut sauce container were closed improperly which led to a very, very messy surprise when I opened the plastic container containing the spring rolls.
Used to be good, nice portions & no complains that got me going there for several years but the last 2'shrinked' orders was the straw that broke the camels back.
& today, their shredded carrots are not even slightly marinated in the Vietnamese way they usually are.
@ the owner of this establishment... Rice vermicelli isn't that expensive, please fill up those rolls like before. Going to take a long break hoping in a year that your spring rolls will fill up instead of shrinking further.
Everything is getting outrageously expensive & you guys use pressed pork in the rolls, shrinking the rolls was not a good idea.
Always a good time! Friendly counter service, quick preparation, yummy food.
On y retourne dès notre prochain banh-trip!
