Environ 25 places assises.
Un excellent repas & un resto à y retourner.
Found this restaurant on a search for takeout portugese chicken. At the dinner party I provided the chicken & it was a hit. We all loved it. I asked for the mild spice & it was perfect. I will definitely be going back again. I also ordered a small salad for one person. It was nice fresh & crisp lettuce & vegetables. Not a soggy old brown salad that many other restaurants provide on take out.
I've passed by this place a few times but then I decided to check it out. Hidden inside a strip mall away from the main commercial arteries, it's easy to miss.
Named after the owner Fabio's hometown of Viana, picturesque photos of which add to the lively decor, it has an impressive menu of authentic Portuguese-style food served by friendly staff.
I opted for a large format Portuguese poutine, non-spicy. Let me tell you, it was a big heaping big bowl filled with crispy fries (a little on the salty side), cheese curds, tender grilled chicken & pork, gravy & their signature spicy sauce topped with a sprinkling of dry parsley.
It was tasty & quite filling.
The other menu items I've tried are the Portuguese fried whole chicken ($15.00 if ordered from their carry out only menu, but no fries & no eating it on the premises) & the half chicken from their sit down menu, with fries & salad.
They've also recently issued a loyalty card.
Definitely worth the visit.
That was six years ago, now I'm not so sure. Two years ago I was shocked to find out that the owner had committed suicide & frankly it just isn't the same without him.
I visited again recently & the new owners have kept Fabio's photograph (the other family heirlooms are gone) & have added a donation jar to Suicide Action Montreal which I found to be a nice touch.
What I did not find nice was them cancelling the loyalty card. Discontinuing the program is one thing, but refusing to honor the loyalty cards of loyal customers whose patronage made the business what it is I find to be insulting.
On top of that, on my last visit I decided to attend a special tasting to support local businesses & ordered their six tiny tacos which came to $48.00 each, plus tax of course. This was a bit over budget & when I didn't leave a tip, the new owner called me on it said that we tip our employees.
He basically called me a thief.
Well, you may have saved yourself the cost of a chorizo sandwich but you've now lost a customer.
It's our first time back after a year. Wow, very welcome changes. The new sauce & salad dressing are amazing. Service & atmosphere are great as well. Fed a family of 4 with quality food for less than 50$ Very good experience, 10/10.
I had some friends raving about this restaurant so I had to try it for myself. I went there around 7:30 the other night & was welcomed with open arms by the friendly staff. The decor was nice & very welcoming as well as the comfortable seating. I ended up meeting the owner Andy from my friend & I gotta say what a nice & overall genuine guy from the second you interact with him. Soon after the food started to come out & OMG, first plater & every single one afterwards was out of this world delicious! See for yourself in the pictures how the food comes to life & presentation was beautiful! Everything was served fresh, tasty & the meat was so unbelievably juicy that I had to refrain myself from licking my fingers at the table lol. We had some special items for that night but it was truly an unforgettable dining experience. The meat was cooked to perfection! The lamb & steak blew my mind & made me go back for seconds & a third serving too! The rice & salad mix was equally good & gobbled up in an instant. Spices were balanced just right & not overpowering. Staff was helpful & super nice & did not ignore you like most of the other restaurants, which in this case, made my first experience here even better! I can go on & on about how great it was but you will need to go see for yourself, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely keep going & already planning my next visit for next week to indulge in another mouth watering feast. Authentic Portuguese food at its finest & I rate it a 10 on 10. You need to try it for yourself 😃 Like & follow me for more honest reviews 👍
Oh man, best Portuguese chicken I've had in a while. The chicken was grilled right in front of us. Besides the amazing smells, they made it perfectly. Juicy & delicious. Their rice is so good, super flavourful & fresh delicious salad with a tasty inhouse dressing. Lastly, their Piri Piri sauce, i don't have words. I could have drank it 😄
My fiancé & I recently ordered from this restaurant & were completely blown away by the experience. The Portuguese chicken was absolutely amazing, easily the best I've ever had! We also tried the poutine & salad, & everything was simply perfect. We can't wait to return soon!
Took a full chicken & a poutine & a salad it was amazing wow thank you
Would not recommend & would never order again, also the kids barely had any of the food. I ordered whole chicken, fries, rice , salad & Creamy Shrimp Fritters. The fries were awful, old & soggy. The chicken is ok but nothing special, you should know that their mild sauce is still very spicy, The worst of all was Creamy Shrimp Fritters , mushy & tasteless , the rice was ok & the salad was good,
Great find! We dined in tonight & an overall great experience! All of the food was amazing, down to the seasoning on the fries! The chicken was great, the salad as well! & the pastel de nata, so good! Andy (the owner) super nice guy who took his time to have a conversation with us! We drove to LaSalle from the south shore & happy we did!!! We will definitely Be back! For great Portuguese food with a good ambiance, it is a MUST!
Went to Viana tonight & we have only great things to say! The food was delicious ( chicken, chouriço, salad & fries, pastel de nata, arroz doce) it was all great, highly recommend!!! & the owner Andy, what a nice guy, down to earth, welcoming, took his time to talk with us)! We will definitely be back!!!
Me & my boyfriend absolutely love coming here - the chicken salad our staple but everything is good. Service is excellent, staff are so friendly & always going above & beyond. Feels like home. 10/10 recommend!
The food isnt the same as it use to. My family & i were loyal clients & would always order & the food was fantastic. Ever since that sad tragedy, the food is not what it was. I used to always order a chorizo poutine & when i asked for it again recently when it reopened i was extremely disappointed. The fries were not as tasteful, & the gravy… well it wasnt even gravy it was straight up liquid sauce. The portions were not the same & the chicken salad did not live up to its previous expectations.
