Takeout is fast & freindly people work there . Always consistent at Viana , which is the key to operating a resto .
Had lunch today with my buddy. The portions were generous & the chicken tasted great!
Chicken is so good & tender. my chicken sandwich was unreal it was so good & the fries are so good I didn't even need sauce with them. Such a cool experience & beautiful atmosphere. Best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal. Super friendly staff & very nice place over all.
Found this restaurant on a search for takeout portugese chicken. At the dinner party I provided the chicken & it was a hit. We all loved it. I asked for the mild spice & it was perfect. I will definitely be going back again. I also ordered a small salad for one person. It was nice fresh & crisp lettuce & vegetables. Not a soggy old brown salad that many other restaurants provide on take out.
Good portuguese chicken spot inlasalle. Chicken sandwhich on point just missing abit more sauce
We were in the area & wanted to eat a lunch that we wouldn't feel guilty about. I ordered the half chicken & it was pretty much perfect. The spicy sauce is very flavorful, not just hot. My wife had the chorizo & it was great too. I highly recommend Viana & will be going back soon.
I've passed by this place a few times but then I decided to check it out. Hidden inside a strip mall away from the main commercial arteries, it's easy to miss.
Named after the owner Fabio's hometown of Viana, picturesque photos of which add to the lively decor, it has an impressive menu of authentic Portuguese-style food served by friendly staff.
I opted for a large format Portuguese poutine, non-spicy. Let me tell you, it was a big heaping big bowl filled with crispy fries (a little on the salty side), cheese curds, tender grilled chicken & pork, gravy & their signature spicy sauce topped with a sprinkling of dry parsley.
It was tasty & quite filling.
The other menu items I've tried are the Portuguese fried whole chicken ($15.00 if ordered from their carry out only menu, but no fries & no eating it on the premises) & the half chicken from their sit down menu, with fries & salad.
They've also recently issued a loyalty card.
Definitely worth the visit.
That was six years ago, now I'm not so sure. Two years ago I was shocked to find out that the owner had committed suicide & frankly it just isn't the same without him.
I visited again recently & the new owners have kept Fabio's photograph (the other family heirlooms are gone) & have added a donation jar to Suicide Action Montreal which I found to be a nice touch.
What I did not find nice was them cancelling the loyalty card. Discontinuing the program is one thing, but refusing to honor the loyalty cards of loyal customers whose patronage made the business what it is I find to be insulting.
On top of that, on my last visit I decided to attend a special tasting to support local businesses & ordered their six tiny tacos which came to $48.00 each, plus tax of course. This was a bit over budget & when I didn't leave a tip, the new owner called me on it said that we tip our employees.
He basically called me a thief.
Well, you may have saved yourself the cost of a chorizo sandwich but you've now lost a customer.
Have ordered takeout chicken dinners from this place twice now & boy is it tasty. All of the people at the party that I was hosting were like where is his chicken from & I proudly told them from this awesome little place right near my house. Looking forward to trying some of your other dishes & dining in also!
The rice was tasty, the chicken was too spicy, & the meal was a little bit expensive.
Seriously the best Portuguese chicken i had in the last 10 years super clean spot amazing team behind that legendary tender chicken & calamaris
This was a beautiful & cozy atmosphere that had a great vibe for families to enjoy a meal, or for friends to grab a drink & chill. The chicken is cooked fresh with traditional flavours & very tasty sauce. Highly recommended to not just grab a meal here, but to also hang out & vibe in the ambiance.
Amazing place to get Portuguese chicken. The quality of the food is very good & the service is super friendly. It's a small place, so I recommend take-out. They have a local beer & it's very tasty.
Have to try this place. The owner's daughter was very welcoming & guided us through the menu. The chicken was taste, juicy & had just the right amount of flavor. Loved their fries. Have to go again & taste their desserts...
This restaurant used to be so good. Since the ownership changed, it is ok not more than that. The chicken I got was dry, the sauce also was dry on the chicken. The food served by a Portuguese restaurant chain less than a kilometre from Viana is bette
Oh man, best Portuguese chicken I've had in a while. The chicken was grilled right in front of us. Besides the amazing smells, they made it perfectly. Juicy & delicious. Their rice is so good, super flavourful & fresh delicious salad with a tasty inhouse dressing. Lastly, their Piri Piri sauce, i don't have words. I could have drank it 😄
