Drove from Buffalo for 2 of 4 jazz festival events here. FABULOUS experience. AMAZING jazz (Jon Cowherd/Steve Cardenas Quartet), wonderful dinner, & the staff could not have been more attentive & friendly. We're looking fwd to returning here in 2 days.

Nous allons régulièrement au Upstairs & sommes très rarement déçus. Le service est quelquefois un peu lent étant donné l'affluence mais jamais hors contrôle.

We had a wonderful evening onJune 20,2026. Heard Mike Bruzzese with his quartet; loved it! We always enjoy the atmosphere & friendly vibe at Upstairs. Food was good, service friendly.

We stumbled across this Jazz Club while looking for a restaurant & boy were we lucky. We were well advised to book online & it was a full house later that nite. Very tight seating to max out guests, & we were just a few feet from the small stage. The music was incredible- Mason Jeffrey-Off , a local 21 yr old music grad, pulled together 2 pals for piano & drums, & they were smooth & very talented. The food was also very good as well as the friendly service. To add to this memorable night, we sat next to Mason's very proud mom, who shared some of Mason's increíble musical journey. Go to Upstairs , ironically named as its downstairs, on Mackay St , whenever in Montreal.

This was SUCH a wonderful experience, we got to meet the guitarist & his family. The food was amazing, service was fantastic, & the overall vibes of the bar are unreal. I felt as if I had been taken back in time. I can't wait to come back.

Food was horrible, calamari was rubbery as hell. Do not get it, my girlfriend got the eggplant Parmesan also horrible, it was mushy, & flavourless, almost like if someone ate the eggplant, chewed it up & spat it out back on the plate. Do not get that either. We both work in the industry, don't usually send stuff back but it was so bad that we couldn't even eat it. & when it came to the bill the server was bargaining with us & saying that he would only take care of the calamari & not the eggplant, this was very disappointing to hear when my girlfriend didn't even eat the dish…. Anyways he managed to get both items taken care of but that was after us telling him we both work in the industry, we understand, & that we will still treat him well in the end, which we did but now to think of it, server was not apologetic once? bargained over the bill comp? Also spilled water all over my girlfriend's leg? Like he was a cool dude but holyyyyyy service was not even that good. Anyways conclusion, the music, the jazz, the atmosphere was gorgeous, food was horrible, please buy better quality food products, & train your servers to be empathetic to your guests. Oh & btw after this horrible experience still spent $130 + $30 tip & that was only for 4 drinks + 1 main + 2 live show tickets, dropping a bag just to basically endure something we could've lived without tbh. Also wrote this really cute note in the reservations notes, not once even acknowledged. Will NEVER come back.
