Uncle Tetsu is praised for light, fluffy cheesecakes with a delicate, balanced flavor that makes each bite feel special, with original and chocolate flavors getting particular praise. The desserts are described as not overly sweet, with fresh textures and even madeleines noted as moist and filling. They are often seen as great for celebrations or sharing with friends and family, though a few reviews say the original cheesecake may not be their favorite. Crowding and no seating at the store are common logistical notes, along with occasional lines, but service is frequently described as fast and friendly. A nut free sign inside adds reassurance for some guests, and the cakes are said to stay fresh for a while. The place is sometimes described as a hidden gem with a nice ambiance, and going early is suggested to avoid crowds. Overall, Uncle Tetsu's cheesecakes come across as reliably delicious for fans of airy Japanese cheesecakes, despite occasional crowding and logistical quirks.
Their locations are consistent in quality across the country. I first tried Uncle Tetsu in Toronto & am glad I have a location near me in my new city. The Japanese Cheesecake standard.
Loved the cake, freshly cooked & warm from the oven & not too sweet. Packaging was awesome too.
The lady who served us was kind, helpful & polite. Will definitely try again.

I recently picked up a Japanese cheesecake from this bakery for a New Year's celebration, & it was an absolute hit. We decided to take a chance & make it our'first-time' New Year's cake, & it couldn't have been a better choice. The texture was unbelievably light & fluffy, the flavor perfectly balanced, & every bite felt special.
Our guests loved it, & it truly added something memorable to the celebration. Thank you for crafting such a delicious dessert, it definitely didn't disappoint & has earned a spot in our future celebrations.
I only tried their original cheesecake for the first time because it was a recommendation. It wasn't too bad but not something I'd get again, not for me.
Love their cakes there to share with my friends & family 🫶 it's a bit hidden the place for where it's located but once you found it, you won't regret to try their sweet there 💕💕💕 it's a very nice ambiance & absolutely love their dessert there ❤?
Japanese cheesecakes at Uncle Tetsu are fluffy, not too sweet & delicious! The person who greets you at the register is always smiling, she's extremely nice & polite. I bring the cheesecakes to family gathering & everyone loves them. Also, fyi, there's a sign inside that says the cakes are nut free.
Hi I just bought a bag of original rusk this afternoon & I didn't check everything, when I back home then I noticed that there's only one layer of it, last week I bought two bags & both of them are 2 layers & full bag.
