About us
UMAMI RAMEN & IZAKAYA is the very first fully vegan ramen restaurant in Montreal.
Thanks to the import of a Japanese machine for making noodles, the establishment makes its own homemade noodles from organic wheat, in addition to making its broths, Tsukemono, kombucha and sprouts! The restaurant offers several varieties of ramen and small classics of Japanese Bistronomy in a vegan version. Whether we think of okonomiyaki, gyozas, Agedashi tofu or even tempeh Tonkatsu, Cédric and his team are happy to present to you every day, from starter to dessert, these revisited Japanese classics... just a few exclusives straight out of our kitchens. And who says Izayaka, of course, says refreshing beers, sumptuous wines, intoxicating cocktails, delicate sakes and other fine wine products. At Umami Ramen, we experience cruelty-free gastronomy at its best!

Calm atmosphere, great staff, & DELICIOUS food & cocktails. Their ramen bowls are packed with flavour. The gyoza were amazing too. For drinks we got a highball & a drink that had beet in it, & they were really good. They had a very nice presentation, & very good flavours. The food is really amazing. The service is also exceptional. I felt it was a bit dark in the restaurant, & the tables are not really intimate because you are really close to others, although it did not ruin my experience. The tapas are amazing. The Ramens are also tasty, but not the best one in Montréal.View more

Ambiance, bien, mais au assise au bar avec mon amie - côte à côte - c'était difficile de s'entendre parler.
Prix : abordables, à l'exception des cocktails

Un classique qui perdure. J'ai emmené autant d'ami.es vegans que omni qui sont tout.es tombé.es sous le charme de ce chic restaurant - & oublient que tout est végétalien. La formule pour emporter & le comptoir sur Mont-Royal sont pratiques les soirs de semaine ou au retour d'une journée de randonnée. J'y retourne souvent. Merci pour votre passion!

Nourriture absolument délicieuse (nous avons pris le menu dégustation), mais nous avions un peu froid car nous étions collés aux fenêtres qui n'étaient pas bien isolées. Nous avons trouvé ça dommage car nous sommes arrivés tôt, quand il n'y avait personne dans le restaurant (& nous avions réservé) & nous avons eu l'impression d'avoir la table la moins confortable & la plus proche des fenêtres froides! It was just delicious! We ate the Karaage & "steak-egg" made with enoki, the ramen Tokyo style & the donut with vanilla ice. The quality of the product, the tastes & the creativity behind this menu is amazing. We already want to come back to try de "menu dégustation". I really wanted to like this place but every dish we ordered except for dessert was unsatisfying. The broth for both ramens we ordered was bland. The karage had a very unpleasant texture. The shishito peppers were undercooked. The gyoza & wakame were only okay. Coming from Toronto, I must say it left me feeling super underwhelmed. Service & ambience were otherwise great.
