First & last time dining here..
Me & my boyfriend decided to dine here as we had a long layover for our connecting flight. The service was ok. We each ordered a burger & drinks. As we were informed, it is restaurant policy to cook all burgers well done. Honestly, the meat was a bit dry but nothing to complain about.
After our meal, i asked for the check & paid by credit card. I did not opt to add a tip at that time. The waiter saw & immediately cancelled my transaction. He then explained that if i didn't add a tip, him & team wouldn't make much money as they rely on tips. I replied that tips aren't obligatory in most countries. He added that because i was from a certain country, I should be expected to add tips. My bf who is French asked what was the normal percentage & we selected that for the tip. I of course verified that he cancelled the previous transaction as he just crumpled the receipt.
Overall, i felt forced. The waiter could've handled the situation differently. If i was there alone, i wouldn't have changed my amount. The staff should be making a liveable wage. Our waiter could have also asked for a tip with a smile..
Nous avons reçu un excellent service dès notre arrivée. La personne qui nous a accueillis était très gentille & nous a immédiatement installés sur une banquette.
Notre serveuse, Margarita, est une véritable perle : attentionnée, professionnelle & chaleureuse.
Je vous recommande vivement d'aller manger au Ubar & d'y prendre un verre avant votre vol !
Das war überraschend gutes Essen für einen Flughafen. Wir hatten Burger mit Poutin (kanadische Spezialtät aus Pommes, Käse und Bratensauce). Auch die Pizza meiner Tochter war nicht schlecht (vielleicht nicht wenn man aus Italien kommt, aber wenn man aus Mexiko kommt auf jeden Fall :D). Der Service war super freundlich.
Honnêtement, tout était très bien, à l'exception du prix. Le service était agréable & le reste de l'expérience s'est très bien déroulé.
Par contre, 19 $ pour un Bloody Caesar, c'est assez difficile à justifier, même pour un aéroport. Je comprends que les prix soient plus élevés dans ce contexte, mais cela reste excessif pour ce que c'est.
En résumé, une belle expérience dans l'ensemble, mais le rapport qualité-prix est à revoir.
