We didn't expect to find amazing Greek food in Montreal, but we did! Tzatzi-qui satisfied my craving of authentic Greek food (since I've been craving the real stuff for 20 years!) as much as it can be satisfied without being back in Greece.
Between all the delicious dips … tzatziki, tirokafteri, skordalia (yes we tried them all), & the entrees we ordered, we had way too much food, but everything was delicious!
The ambiance was great & service was hospitable & friendly. We did go at a slow time, so we didn't need a reservation & almost had the restaurant to ourselves, which admittedly is my favorite time to dine 😊
Definitely check this place out for lunch or dinner if you are in Montreal & craving Greek food!

So I normally never write a bad review like this, as you can see I only love to promote great stuff. But for some reason everything about the food here was really lack lustered.
We ordered the dips, all 5 of them & those were really good, about the only thing besides the great service that saves them. We also got the octopus salad, if you can even call in that. In pictures is shows 2 large tenticles. What we got was the tip end of one tenticles that you can see here in the picture no bigger then my pinky. Some small cut up pieces in there but really small. That & the dressing was not a dressing at all just a olive oil soup. Was desapointing because I love octopus & even that was tough.
We also ordered the donner mix plate which was dry but pitched as juicy. & we got maybe 1 cup worth of meat with alot of rice underneath. For 33 dollars would have been nice to get a little more substance.
Same with the filet mignon. Dry, over cooked to almost medium well when my wife asked for medium rare. & the smallest portion ever for 35 bucks. The fries were really good tho. It sucks because it feels like a traditional tourist trap in old Montreal.
If not for the atmosphere & the service might have gone lower on the review. Tbh for 150 dollars with tax & tip it feels like a bit of a rip off which is why I am leaving the review. Again the atmosphere is great & cute & servers are awesome. If the food was just as good I'd come back, but I don't go to restaurants for the atmosphere & services. You go back to them for that but the food is like 4/10 to be generous. When I like the dips more then the meal, that's kinda a issue
Great little spot to grab a bite. The dips are 10/10, great saganaki as well. I hear the Moussaka is the most sought after item on their menu; it was sold out by the time we got to the restaurant (a good sign). The lamb dish was underwhelming, the potatoes that came with it were excellent though! We ordered 2 drinks: one limoncello spritz (wouldn't recommend) & the Demetris (a mocktail; I likely misspelled the name, however it was excellent!!). We asked to add more prosecco to the limoncello spritz & the staff was very kind to accommodate the request. Overall I'd return here for their happy hour & their dips + saganaki, & maybe try the Moussaka if they have it. Good little find away from the hustle & bustle of the Old Port, but still in it.
Great moussaka. Order early as they run out. The home- made dips were excellent too.
We stumbled onto this place in Old Montreal & had a great experience here. Our party of 3 had the two person platter which our server said would be good enough for the 3 of us. There was a salad, a pita plate with 3 dips, calamari with thick cut fries, & a choice of 4 skewers with rice. Everything was well prepared & good tasting plus the server was very attentive. A hidden gem for Greek food in Old Montreal!
Adorable restaurant with cute ambiance. Jimmy made the best drinks we've ever had with homemade syrups & fresh ingredients. The dips were so delicious we plan to go back & buy more to take back home with us. A great spot for both dinner & drinks.
Tzatzi-qui is a nice little Greek restaurant in Old Montreal.
You must try the 5 dipping sauce entree for $19... it's well worth it & portion is enough for 3 people.
We had the Calamari, a Veggie pita plate & a Pork pita plate...both plates were quite good, with salad & rice included.
The bread is perfectly fresh, & the feta not too salty.
The service is good, we had 4 different people serve our table after our order was taken...& for some reason the male servers were much more attentive than the females.
We asked for extra napkins from one of the female servers & were kinda ignored, asked the same to the male server & we had napkins right away.
Asked for extra water , & the same thing, the female forgot about us, asked a different male server & we had water on our table in a few seconds.
What a find! The sharing platter was out of this world. & the dips with pita were all AMAZING! Jimmy took good care of us & made us some perfect margaritas! 👌👌
What a sensational meal! The tzatziki has a delightful garlicky bite to it & the kopanisti (spicy feta dip) is also excellent. I had the marg-aphrodite, their take on a spicy margarita with pepperoncini juice & it was incredible. The spanakopita is top notch. The mains were all solid as well. Oh & the wait staff are all really lovely - Florence is super sweet & gave us some good recommendations to make sure we had a really enjoyable dinner. This was one of the best meals I had in my visit to Montreal.
Great food! The sharing plate & the 3 dip option is great with a friend, & we loved the garlic dip & the tzatziki. The wild spice feta dip definitely has some kick! The Dolma Dakia is delicious but the portion is on the small side. The fries are also very yummy. The seating inside is a bit cramped, especially when busy. Overall definitely want to come back to try their lunch express option!
Edit: Came back in January of 2025 & tried the shrimp skewer plate & the sharing platter again! Still highly recommend coming here, especially if you're looking to share plates & try a little of everything.
Highly recommend! We did the chef's platter & an order of dolma. Some of the best dolma we've ever had & the kopanisti dip was inspiring! The proteins were all cooked perfectly & the service was great. Definitely don't miss this restaurant if you're in Montreal & need a delicious meal for a very reasonable price!
Cozy little spot with great food! The service was decent & there's a nice atmosphere. We shared the chef's platter & it was huge. Some favourites from the platter were the dips & the shrimp skewer! Prices were reasonable for the area. Great spot for a date night or family dinner. I would highly recommend!
Simply a wonderful dining experience. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere charming & airy, & the service was spectacular. The dips & pita was exceptional, & the entrees were amazing. But their service made the entire experience a real pleasure. I would rate them 6 stars if it was an option!
The food was great- me being Greek I didn't have any complaints about the quality but the quantity of the to go dishes at least that we received. Maybe if we dined in it would be bigger portions but it was very little for the amount spent. I have been to other restaurants where a meal comes with a full side salad this one came with what you see in the photo which isn't much. Small amount of fries not a full side & only 4 shrimp in my meal that was over 30$ i believe. The dip was just a very small condiment dip. I don't mind spending that money just for a bit more portion. Otherwise it was good.
Delicious! We had three dips, salad & a mixed plate... left overs for tomorrow! The atmosphere was so relaxing.
Best salad & dips ever! We had an amazing spot next to the window, & the service was excellent. The waitstaff speaks Spanish, French, & English, which was a plus. The chef's special is $75 & can easily serve two people, though I think it could be enough for three or four. I tried the pork gyro, which was good but had a bit too much sauce & not enough onion for my taste. Next time, I'd go for the skewers-they come with perfectly seasoned rice, fries, & a delicious Harold sauce, all in a really generous portion.
I tried to get into this place last year during a trip to Montreal, but was unsuccessful as they were full. This year I went a little earlier & was able to get a seat at the bar - since I was solo & they were again very busy. This was a bit of luck, as the bartender, Jimmy, was a gem. He was taking care of the people seated at the bar, plus making all the drinks for the tables. He understood the assignment & kept my water glass full. (It is very hot in Montréal right now, & I was downing glass after glass of water.) He also made me a delicious limoncello spritz (which went down way too easily) & took my food order. I ordered the calamari as I'd had a late lunch & only wanted something light. My food arrived quickly & I wasn't disappointed. The calamari was lightly breaded, cooked to perfection & came with a lovely creamy, garlicky sauce. I did experience a bit of food envy when I saw the wonderful platters of dips with pita & kebab platters coming out of the kitchen for my fellow bar diners. Next trip to Montreal, I will reserve a table in advance & come with my full appetite to experience some of the wonderful dishes that I saw. I may even bring a friend!
The food was delicious! We order a platter to share that included dips, salad, calamari, skewers, rice, fries, it was all delicious & could have fed 4 people honestly! Good service, super cute & cozy place!
