Tuck Shop has always been a'go to' spot for my wife & I. From date nights, to birthdays to anniversaries, we've been many times in the last few years. The food, the wine & the service are always exceptional. This past weekend though, they truly outdid themselves. I was planning a surprise dinner with about 18 guests. Other restaurants wanted to charge me exorbitant amounts of money for a group that size, or offered me ridiculous seating times like 5pm or 9:30pm. Not Tuck Shop though. I spoke with Jonathan & his exact words were'I'll do what it takes to make this happen.' & let me tell you, he wasn't kidding. The dinner was amazing from start to finish. Every guest was beyond impressed. All in all, I can't thank them enough for an extraordinary dinning experience. I cannot emphasize how much I recommend this restaurant. Go ASAP!Voir plus

Fresh local ingredients presented with a delightful twist by the chef. Always seasonal & fresh. The local fried mushrooms with ranch sauce were excellent as was the Gaspe tuna as appetizers. Fish & steak for mains were prepared perfectly.Voir plus

This is a small, very chic spot with incredible food. They were able to accommodate our 10 person party for an event & made it so fun, special & memorable. They were exceedingly accommodating of dietary restrictions & our vegetarians got food just as fresh & exciting as everyone else's! Would go back here again & again. Beautiful ingredients, local produce, & a thoughtful wine selection. The effort in the kitchen is remarkable, & the service is truly exceptional.
however, the wine list pricing is greatly exaggerated. There should be more affordable options. The least expensive'reasonable' wine is 110$.

Our experience was, unfortunately, disappointing. We were a table of three on a Saturday night, & the overall atmosphere was overwhelmingly loud. The music was excessively loud, leading guests & staff to shout just to hold a conversation. On top of that, the open kitchen contributed a lot of additional noise. Staff didn't seem trained to minimize the noise, & no measures appeared to be in place to reduce sound. I've been to open kitchens where the cooks work quietly & efficiently, this wasn't one of them.
We were seated directly across from the restrooms, which was not ideal. Guests often left the doors open, though I have to give credit to the waiters who diligently closed them each time they walked by. Still, it wasn't a pleasant or comfortable spot to dine.
As for the food, it was overall good but didn't leave a lasting impression. A special mention goes to the quality of the meat for the Onglet de Boeuf & the lemon curd for dessert but on the other hand, the crème brûlée was a complete miss & the aspargus appetizer quite bland.
Toward the end of the evening, four different staff members came by to ask if we were finished with dessert. It came across as pushy & gave us the impression that we were being rushed out, despite the restaurant still being busy & nearby tables just receiving their main courses
On a positive note, the wine recommendation was excellent.
Unfortunately, I don't plan to return & wouldn't recommend it to others, but I hope this feedback can contribute to improving the overall guest experience.Voir plus

App & main were good, but the dessert was too sweet. Service was decent. It's a very small yet busy restaurant, so the space is limited & a bit noisy. They still calculated tips after taxes in the mid of May.Voir plus
