Japanese Ramen restaurant. Specializes in Fukuoka style Tonkotsu Ramen. Home made creamy Tonkotsu broth, organic, totally Non-MSG. Also serves some small side dishes and Japanese beer.
We've been to the Bois Franc branch a few times, & this was our first visit to the Bishop location. We happened to be there during La Semaine Japon, so with 20% off the mazemen, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the chashu mazemen & the chashu asari shio ramen. As always, the service was quick & the ramen did not disappoint. We especially enjoyed the creamy, rich mazemen. The asari shio ramen had a clean, clear broth-refreshing, though we still personally prefer the bold, classic flavour of their tonkotsu ramen with black garlic oil. Still, this remains one of our favourite ramen spots in town.

Cool interior design! The appetizers we ordered, spicy kara age & Takowasa, were delicious. The tonkotsu ramen with chashu & spicy miso was ok-- our friends preferred the mazemen & ordered take out for late night snacks. I personally thought the mazemen was a bit sweet with the peanut sauce. Overall, I recommend the atmosphere & yummy appetizers!
Japanese night out with a friend to talk travel-& fuel up right!
I went for the Tonkotsu Ramen: rich homemade creamy pork bone broth with thin noodles, chashu, green onion, kikurage, egg, & nori.
She chose the Maze Men: cold brothless noodles topped with salad, tomato, crispy onions, a poached egg, & tender chicken.
Comfort food, great company, & future adventures on the menu!
Staff, service, & ambiance were all fantastic. The place is very cool looking & has a fun vibe. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the food. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen with chashu. I found the broth to be boring & lacking depth of flavor. It was also extremely oily & salty, I felt like I was being fed spoonfuls of bacon fat. I have had tonkotsu ramen many times, & unfortunately this one ranks close to the bottom. The pork belly was salty & the piece of meat was mostly fat. If that's your thing, this is the place to be. The spice adds a much needed balance in flavor to the broth. The portion size is adequate. Although the people are very nice & the cool vibe, I would not bother coming back to this place again.

The food is good, but not great. I've had much better ramen than this place. The portion was the smallest I've ever had at a ramen place. The shiitake mushrooms weren't cleaned properly so they were gritty.
The place was small, but quaint. The tables were very close, so don't expect privacy. The place was nicely decorated.
Service was spot on for the most part. They were nice.
On y retournera 😊
Amazing food. I had the miso ramen & the broth was amazing! Beautifully decorated as well, the staff was also kind & the atmosphere was overall very cozy. Wide variety of drinks as well!
Soup was decent! I had the ramen! The noodles were the star of show! The serving size was average! Service was alright. The staff weren't very warm! Not sure I'd come again, though the decor is nice!
If I want to be honest here, the pricing of the ramen is a bit ridiculous for the taste provided. Out of all the ramen places I've been to (other than Kinton Ramen), this one has been the least enjoyable. The ramen itself is nothing to talk about, & I need to pay extra for my ramen to be spicy. I'll never understand how this makes any sense other than the need to get extra money out of you. The atmosphere is subpar & the placement of tables is quite awkward. There are plenty of ramen restaurants around the area but still, take a visit if you don't want to wander around too much.
