First time eating there & the food was delicious. The portions are generous & tremendous value. Since Mario's in NDG on Upper Lachine closed a few years ago my family & I have been looking for something comparable & our long search is over . I had a Rizuto with a salad which was delicious my daughter had the home made Gnocchi & my son & my mom had the lamb with pasta exceptional

I've been to the restaurant twice so far. Last year, the food was a letdown, but this year it was good.
For starters, I had the soup; a chicken broth with vegetables (tomato & a couple of others). It was very average. Table d'hôte is like 2/3 extra dollars so its whatever.
I ordered the table d'hôte rigatoni with a meatball. It was good, the sauce was a bit undersalted, but the herb mix in the tomato sauce was nice, & when combined with the melted cheese, it made for a tasty combination. The meatball, however, was a bit overwhelming, slightly dry on the inside, & lacking in flavor. Not bad overall, but I would have preferred smaller meatballs with a better cooking method. It seemed oven-cooked rather than pan-fried. Still, it was enjoyable to get a bite of meatball with the rigatoni & cheese would recommend.
My girlfriend had the ravioli. She said she liked it, but I tried one & I'm pretty sure it was frozen. Not a bad option, but I'm not sure I'd pay $25 for it. The sauce was either vodka sauce or some kind of cream sauce, & it was good, but I wouldn't recommend the meat ravioli.
My friend had the carbonara. He said it was good & well-seasoned, but I didn't taste it so I can't say for sure.
The lamb rack looked amazing. It came with spaghetti, & I would definitely order it if I liked lamb (I don't). My friend said it was cooked exactly to his request, with a well-seared crust that trapped the juices inside, just waiting to be released when cut open. Delicious, according to him.
The most underrated dish here is probably the pizza. I forgot how good it was & didn't order it this time, but maybe I should have. It's more of a'fancy' pizza (the kind you eat with a fork & knife) but it looks great: not too oily, generously topped, rich in flavor, with low cheese content on a crispy flatbread-style crust.
Overall, this restaurant is a solid spot to try on a weeknight if you live in the area. I wouldn't drive across the city for it, but you'll likely get a table right away, be promptly served, & enjoy good food, making for a solid 4/5 experience.

I went in only for a dessert, & what a surprise! My friend & I took the tiramisu & the creme caramel, with cappucinos... what a delight! I have NEVER tasted better tiramisu NOR creme caramel, both were absolutely gorgeously generously delicious, out of this world!
& from the smell of classic oven-baked italian pizza, I will definitely go back to try the dinner menu. The ambiance is so friendly, amazing staff & the restaurant is family owned... What a hidden gem!
Spoke to other customers at another table, they were regulars & they told me that EVERYTHING is amazing there, especially the pizzas & the lasagna, & the penne sauce rosée... Oh well, I will go back!!
Makes me wish I had not eaten before going there...
