No menu at this eatery, right in the heart of Westmount. One has to get up & read the available meals on the wall. The chicken piccata consisted of 4 very tender chicken breast thin pieces with garlic pasta on the side. The 4 lamb chops (again with pasta) was a bit tough & could hardly be chewed. The eggplant parmigiana (again with pasta on the side) was ok. The salmon with pasta on the side was ok too. The soups were very good. All in all, not a bad experience, however, for what one gets, the prices are a bit too steep. The place was a bit crammed without air conditioning or even air circulation or a fan.It says "Iranian restaurant" yet Iranian specialties were non-existent.
The food is excellent & the service, while slow when busy, is extremely polite.
You can't really blame the slow service on anyone. The food is prepared to perfection & it is a very small kitchen. Putting more staff would only dilute the art of their chef.
One of the best Italian food places in Montreal with a touch of Persian influence.
My wife & I & three teenagers were mildly pleased with the food at Toucheh. Although the service was good (two scaloppini dishes & three penne dishes), our concern with the evening occurred after we had completed our meals. My Visa card, which I have used successfully without exception in Canada & many other different countries, was not accepted because the waiter stated that the card machine only worked with a PIN number, which my Visa card did not require. After I had to leave my family in the restaurant & withdraw money from an ATM a block away, & gave the waiter cash at his register for the bill that required about $50 in change, he did not give me change but insisted that I tell him what tip I would give him. I said a $15 tip, which was about 10% because of my embarrassing walk to the ATM & what I thought was less than exceptional food taking into account the price. He then gave me $15 in change! After I protested, he returned $25 saying that I should pay 15% - I "agreed" but with the intention of not returning again. In the circumstances I think that I should have had the option to decide on the tip myself.
