Un après-midi assez achalandé, heureusement nous avons pu nous asseoir à la dernière table libre.
Le lava cake au matcha était comme d'habitude incroyable, un secret bien gardé!
Par contre, nous avons dû attendre un moment avant de pouvoir commander. Les employées étaient occupées donc nous avons attendus. Quand elles avaient visiblement du temps morts mais ne venaient toujours pas, je me suis levé pour aller passer commande.
Le thé vert japonais a été servi dans un énorme kyusu aux allures bon marché, accompagné d'une tout petite tasse conique qui aurait mieux convenue à du thé chinois. Une collation un peu huileuse au riz vietnamien a également été servie, sans ustensiles ni serviettes…
J'adore cet endroit, mais je pense qu'il y a des points à améliorer.
Thé Guru is a standout tea house that feels both intimate & thoughtfully curated. The tea selection is the real strength here: matcha prepared with care, alongside a wide range of pu-erh, green teas, & oolongs that appeal to both casual drinkers & serious tea enthusiasts. Quality & technique are clearly priorities.
The food offering is small but well chosen. Brownies & matcha ice cream complement the tea menu nicely without trying to turn the place into a full café. Everything feels intentional & well executed.
The décor deserves special mention: calm, stylish, & inviting, making it an ideal spot to slow down, focus on the tea, or have a quiet conversation. Overall, Thé Guru is a refined, delicious, & genuinely enjoyable place for anyone who appreciates good tea in a thoughtfully designed space.

Thés Guru is a lovely store that carries an exceptional collection of high quality teas. The tea master is incredibly knowledgeable & offers expert advice to clients. The tea accessories are carefully selected & are very beautiful to purchase.
All that said, however, I think the concept is missing a very vital aspect of tea which is: hospitality. The staff & servers are quite abrupt, occasionally rude, inattentive to clients, are often found in the back & it takes them a long time to recognize there are customers & come to the front to serve them. They do not have the expertise to make a proper tea or a matcha latte, as every time the drinks & tea taste different (no consistency whatsoever). They often seem unhappy & greet customers with frowns & tired expressions that makes one question whether they are being paid or treated properly at their job. Moreover, they are always rushing customers to leave at least 30 minutes before closing time. In short, you do not feel welcomed, which goes against tea culture. They certainly do not promote their products nor the culture of tea. I have been to Thés Guru repeatedly but have always been disappointed by the service. I think it really needs improvement & the owner must really decide whether their concept is just to sell tea or to promote a tea culture for people to enjoy & experience. I think focusing on the latter would set them apart from other tea rooms in the city & can really elevate their business. Best of luck & hope to see improvements.
C'est une belle découverte à Montréal. Le menu contient une grande diversité de thés ainsi que de boissons au matcha. Les serveuses sont sympathiques & le service est rapide. J'ai pris une glace râpée au matcha yame & j'ai été agréablement surprise!! C'était très goûteux & rafraîchissant pour une journée chaude. Je recommande l'endroit
Merci à Julie pour cette belle expérience ! Elle a été super professionnelle & a pris le temps de m'expliquer en détail les bienfaits du matcha & du thé, ainsi que la meilleure façon de les préparer. Grâce à ses conseils, j'ai pu découvrir différentes variétés & techniques d'infusion. Julie m'a vendu un kit complet pour préparer du matcha & du thé , & je suis ressortie avec le sourire, ravie de cette découverte. Une expérience enrichissante que je recommande à 100 % !
Des connaisseurs hors du commun de tous les thés, tisane & matcha ... etc. Tu leurs dit tes symptômes & ils savent exactement se que vous devez boires pour éliminer tous symptômes. Demandez pour le propriétaire ou sa femme, je vous le dit, vous allez les aimer & comprendre ce que j'essaie de vous expliquer. Ils sont charmants, des grands connaisseurs de thés & leurs tisanes & à l'écoute de vous! Donnez-moi votre Avis. Michele

Awesome vibe in this place. The tea sets make it feel magical. Had the creme de Taiwan slushee. Would love to come here for proper matcha when it is coolernoutside.
J'ai bien aimé les explications des divers mélanges de matcha. J'aimerais bien y retourner pour goûter à leur crème glacée. Les macarons sont un plutôt décevants, mais heureusement, ce n'est pas la raison de notre visite.
Un bel espace, un bon service, une belle sélection de thé. La crème glacée au matcha (vegan) est vraiment délicieuse!! Le gout & la texture etait parfait selon moi. Je reviendrai & je recommande :)
J'ai goûté à la crème molle végétalienne au matcha. Normalement je n'aime pas beaucoup le matcha, mais la crème molle avait aucun goût amer & était bien rafraîchissante. Le goût me rappelle un peu de feuille de pandan. Je tiens à souligner l'attention très appréciée du patron. On était un groupe de 3 & il y avait seulement des tables pour 2 dehors, alors sans même qu'on l'ait demandé, le patron a amené un 3e tabouret. Je recommende fortement une visite!!
