Reviews of THE STANDARD Café present a mix of praise and critique. The space is described as cozy with a minimalist vibe, good pastries, and a relaxing atmosphere that makes it a nice place to work or unwind when conditions allow. Coffee is often called decent or good, but service quality varies, with reports of inattentive staff and some tension over pricing. Milk quality is a recurring topic, with complaints about budget plant milks and small volumes in cappuccinos, and take away cups leaking. Internet access is reported as very poor, making it less ideal for work, and some comments note a limited variety of viennoiseries. Overall the place shows charm and potential, though customers point to inconsistent service and milk options as areas for improvement.
Small cozy coffee place with good coffee beans, although the experience of visiting, & the coffee itself, can be ruined by the barista, which has happened several times. It's a matter of luck;)
This is a cute coffe spot. They have really good pastries as well. You can also purchase bags of coffee for home or as a gift. The Barista is always friendly & welcoming.
Decent coffee. Obnoxious customer service.
I ordered my coffee with sugar.'This isn't Starbucks' the barista / owner tells me.'We serve good coffee here'. Seriously?
I just returned from Bali, Indonesia where I visited a coffee plantation that makes Lombok coffee, some of the finest coffee in the world. There, sugar is served alongside the coffees they presented for sampling. Ditto for the coffee plantations I visited in Costa Rica, Uganda, & Brazil. In Turkey, coffee has been served for over 500 years, with the standard question being: sweet, semi-sweet or black?
Mr Owner, may I suggest you go work at Starbucks, where you will learn that many people consume their coffee in many different ways.
Avoid this place. Unless you take your coffee black, of course.
It's a nice cafe at Westmount, a bit pricey but it's normal I guess considering the neighborhood. It's always nice to come here to take a coffee & relax. Love the plants inside, contrasting with the modern black interior decor & furniture. The coffee is not bad, the latte art could be better though. Not a big variety of viennoiseries is also a point to improve
Really nice ambiance to read & study. The coffee is Great & the staff is kind. However, a lot of the menu is out of stock & has been for a while. There’s not many plugs either, so studying for long periods of time might be difficult if you have a computer with bad battery life like mine.

Very chic cafe in a nice area of westmount. The coffee is very good & worth the price imo. The pastries looked great as well. Some areas for sitting, but it fills up quick. Would go back.
Coffee is for many a necessity. There are a ton of great coffee shops across our beautiful city of Montreal. I've come to this cafe a few times & have always enjoyed the quality of their coffee. I passed by this morning to quickly grab a coffee & the gentleman who served me greeted me with such warmth & care that I had to take a moment to write this review of appreciation. The barista asked me how my day was going & i admitted to him that my family & I are dealing with a health emergency & doing our best to keep positive. This barista was so genuinely caring & offered me such kind words. I was so touched by his sincerity & kindness........... these types of things don't happen very often, & to have received this touch of humanity when I needed it the most serves as a testament of the quality of character ppl have. So touched, so impressed, so thankful: Mateo, you are a splendid human & I wish you much success. Please Visit this café for great coffee & a wonderful experience. Sincerely JM.

This café is disappointing. No teas, chai latte or anything non-coffee based besides a hot chocolate. Fair enough since it's a'café'. But the way it was communicated by the staff felt arrogant. The hot chocolate wasn't good too. Also no cocoa powder for your cappuccino, they like to keep it real simple, & standard. Cold ambiance overall.
They only had coffee & hot chocolate, they didn't have teas, chai lattes, matcha's or the infusions that were listed on the menu, so I ended up ordering a hot chocolate that wasn't that good. Service was ok, the music was so low that you couldn't hear it so it was a really awkward atmosphere.
Such a lovely experience!!! I popped in here cause it seemed so cute, & I wasn't disappointed! (I usually don't review places, but wanted to chip in after seeing all these Coffee Karens' reviews lmao)
