Review Summary

The King Hall earns high marks for its extensive whiskey and beer selection and for a welcoming, attentive staff, with a unique bar ambiance that many describe as stylish and lively. The dining experience is noted for being refined and well presented, with balanced flavors and evident culinary skill, and the lunch table d'hote is touted as the best deal in town. Some reviews note that the space can feel tight when crowded and the noise level can be quite high, with occasional slow service, and a few menu items like mac'n cheese and poutines receiving criticism for small portions or lack of sauce. The drinks program, especially cocktails and microbrews, is frequently praised, along with generally outstanding service and a warm, hospitable atmosphere that makes guests feel welcome. Overall the King Hall is seen as a refined, versatile spot in Sherbrooke for a celebratory night, a quiet drink, or a casual bite, with many readers intending to return.

The moment you step inside, the towering bar wall-stacked with an almost overwhelming selection of spirits & beers-is a sight to behold. It's the kind of place where you know you're going to find something special, whether it's a rare craft beer, a perfectly executed cocktail, or a spirit you never knew you needed to try. It's one of those spots where you can spend an entire evening just exploring the different options.

However, while the drinks shine, the service can be slow, & uninterested. The food is decent but not the reason to visit; it feels more like an accompaniment rather than a highlight.

Very cool little bar. Small town feel. Great beer at good prices, good music, friendly staff.

Visited on September 25, 2019, in the afternoon at the opening. Located on the highest point in downtown Sherbrooke, the entry however is located next to the parking lot via Alexandre St or Gillespie St. Last time I was in Sherbrooke was in 2010, that place was way off my radar, I'm not even sure if this was a good beer bar, well it is. A mix of pub & high class bar, not big by the looks of it but there are several section including a pool room, a second floor with a terrasse. About 30 beers on tap, more than 20 are rotating & for the most part quite interesting, I had the Bas-Canada Substance, it's a freaking vanilla chocolate cake with coconut. An impressive bottle menu, & they sometimes tap takeovers & rare bottle events, they even have a beer cellar. If your with someone who is not in to beer, this is a great cocktail bar, food wise however is quite limited. Great service, quite meticulous. A major beer destination in the Eastern Townships!
