2026: desserts were nice, enjoyed the charcuterie board, especially the specialized nuts
2019: Great music, pleasant service, impeccable view, delicious drinks (remember to stir them though)

Long wait to get in despite reservations. We had requested a month earlier for a nice seating to view the fireworks but did not get a good location. We were finally moved to a better location. Service was sporadic. Food is ok but expensive. Note they may charge you a cover charge on the evening that there are fireworks.

I understand people found this place pricey & it is but we enjoyed the service & our food & drinks a lot. Also the view was so beautiful. We will visit next time we are in Mont Real :)

I tried the burrata as a starter & it was delicious. I especially enjoyed the sauce which was full of flavor 😋 I didn't try the other dishes but the burrata was definitely worth ordering. The beautiful view made the whole experience even more enjoyable😌

The photographs & overall presentation of the venue create very high expectations. One expects to enjoy quality food or cocktails while taking in the same beautiful views showcased in the promotional images. Even the menu descriptions suggest a refined & exclusive dining experience.

Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing &, in my opinion, reflects a trend that is becoming increasingly common in some Montreal establishments: a carefully crafted image that is not matched by the quality of the food or the overall experience.

The beet salad was the clearest example of this disconnect. It consisted of little more than a few thin slices of beetroot, a small drizzle of sauce, & a few salad leaves. Such a portion cannot reasonably be presented as a main course at the price charged. This is not simply a matter of presentation or personal taste; it is about the relationship between quality, quantity, & value. A main-course salad should offer a more generous selection of ingredients, greater attention to preparation, & a portion that reflects its price.

To the server's credit, once we explained our concerns, she handled the situation professionally. She immediately understood the issue & kindly removed both beet salads from our bill, acknowledging that the dish did not meet reasonable expectations.

The chicken sandwich was equally disappointing. It consisted of a simple bun with what appeared to be an industrially processed chicken patty, whose texture resembled reconstituted meat rather than a genuine chicken fillet. The overall quality was poor & certainly did not justify the price.

The final disappointment concerned the seating. We had hoped to sit on the terrace but were told that no tables were available & were instead seated at the bar. However, throughout our entire visit, several terrace tables remained empty. If those tables were genuinely reserved, a clearer explanation would have been appreciated; otherwise, the decision was difficult to understand.

Overall, the impression is of a venue that invests heavily in its image, marketing, & exceptional location while failing to deliver food & service that justify the expectations it creates & the prices it charges. A spectacular view alone cannot compensate for mediocre food. A restaurant's value should come from the balance between food quality, service, atmosphere, & fair pricing. Unfortunately, in our experience, that balance was missing.

Ms. Emma Croteau deserves to be recognized for her exceptional professionalism. She is the only reason this review is not 1 star.

On July 2, I came with two friends to celebrate my birthday & watch the fireworks. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from beginning to end.

It started before we even arrived. Our reservation had never been entered into the system despite my phone call earlier that day. I only found out because I called back after never receiving a confirmation. Since it was my birthday, they eventually found us a table.

Unfortunately, the table felt like a last-minute solution. It was a tiny high-top table meant for two people with a third chair squeezed in. There was barely enough room for our plates, glasses or bags. The table was also unstable & shook throughout dinner. Instead of replacing it, they simply wedged something underneath one leg. On top of that, it was located directly beside the service stairs, with employees constantly walking past us. One even accidentally bumped into my friend.

The biggest disappointment came during the fireworks. We had to pay the extra fee for a fireworks-view table, yet guests from the regular section were allowed to stand directly in front of our table, completely blocking our view. We had to leave our seats & stand in the crowd just to watch the fireworks.

I repeatedly asked to speak with the terrace manager. I was told she would come, but she never did. I was even told she believed she had already spoken with us, which was completely false. Instead of coming herself, she sent an employee to tell us that the $30 fireworks fee would be removed. While appreciated, that completely missed the point. We were not caring about the money, we simply wanted the manager responsible for the terrace to acknowledge the situation & speak with u.

The evening only changed because of Ms. Emma Croteau, the manager of one of the hotel's other restaurants, who was simply helping on the terrace that evening. Although the situation wasn't her responsibility, she took the time to listen patiently to everything, moved us to a proper table, covered our meals & drinks, offered us a compensation dessert or drinks, & invited us to return for another fireworks evening & gave me her email & made sure I email her before coming so she can take care of the situation to make sure everything goes well. Most importantly, she made us feel heard & respected.

Had the actual terrace manager taken just a few minutes to come speak with us, I honestly would not be writing this review today.

Thank you again, Emma. Your professionalism, empathy & customer service turned a ruined birthday into an experience where we at least left feeling respected. I sincerely hope your work is recognized.

(I attached a picture showing what the view looked like from our table during fireworks)

The view is stunning, the wine options mediocre, & the food was not good. We had the burrata & beef tacos, very mediocre. The service was good .

You go to this restaurant for the view/atmosphere. Not the food.

My wife & I were tourists in Montreal, & decided to go to a restaurant that's highly rated. We went to this one - although the ratings were largely because of the view, so we knew that going in.

Indeed, the views are spectacular. You're on the 6th floor, overlooking the St. Lawrence river, & downtown Montreal. Gorgeous no matter when, but especially around sunset time.

As for the food - meh. Pretty limited menu. Made even more limited by the fact that they didn't have the menu item that I wanted at the time I was there (beef brisket tacos). Instead, both my wife & I ordered a chicken sandwich. It was fine. Not the best, not the worst.

The cloth napkin that my utensils were wrapped in was dirty. The dessert menu is even more limited than the mains & appetizers, with only 2 options on it. My wife ended up going to a different restaurant for dessert.

What a great way to kick off our stay in Montreal. Wonderful views of the skyline & river, laid back vibe, nice music, great food & cocktails. We had the cheese & charcuterie, the beet salad, & the pinsa, which was like a really good grilled cheese. Our server Alex was fantastic, friendly warm & helpful; he recommended us excellent cocktails that were perfect for the early summer evening.
