Tandoor Grill offers a vibrant & satisfying dive into authentic Indian cuisine, delivering bold flavors & warm hospitality in a relaxed yet stylish setting. Whether you're a longtime fan of Indian food or just dipping your toes into the world of curries & tandoori dishes, this place hits the mark.
The menu is well-curated, with traditional favorites like butter chicken, lamb rogan josh, & vegetable biryani, alongside regional specialties that showcase the depth of Indian culinary tradition. The star of the show, unsurprisingly, is their namesake tandoor - dishes like tandoori chicken & garlic naan come out perfectly charred, smoky, & full of flavor. Their spice levels are customizable, so whether you prefer mild or fiery, you're in good hands.
Portions are generous, presentation is thoughtful, & the service is attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance is inviting, with warm lighting, Indian-inspired décor, & a playlist that adds a subtle cultural touch without being too loud.
The only downside? It can get busy during peak hours, so reservations are recommended - but that's just a testament to its popularity.
Overall, Tandoor Grill is a must-visit for lovers of Indian food. Whether you're grabbing a casual dinner or celebrating something special, it delivers on taste, comfort, & value.Voir plus
I ordered snacks chicken tikka & fish pakora one of the best i had around here. Service was also pretty quick as for the atmosphere it is a family restaurant so you can guessVoir plus
I ordered kadayi chicken & it was too spicy that i couldn't continue eating.. I complained to the server about it. Another guest was also having some issue. I went there quite. A times because of good taste of food but this time i was really disappointed by the food.Voir plus
The tandoor plates were outstanding. Smoky & hot from the tandoor oven, they were delicious. Had the chicken kebab & the malai soya plate (can't remember the proper name) & thoroughly enjoyed them both. The cartelized onions that covered the bottom of the cast iron grill pan added a terrific additional layer of taste. The naan were thin & crispy in the middle, light & fluffy around the edges -exactly how I like them. Navia our server was delightful & on top of things, despite a very large party she was attending to as well. Would definitely go backVoir plus
The option to get whole chicken curry was unique & very awesome. Every food here tastes great. Service is very nice & staff is very friendly. They also offer banquet hall for events & their service was great in it.Voir plus
I got a chance to have dinner with my friends at this wonderful restaurant. We ordered Mixed Platter, Malai Chicken Tikka, Garlic Naan, Nihari, Lamb Biryani & different types of desserts. Every dish we tasted was of high quality & super taste. Mixed platter & Malai chicken tikka were wooow👌🏻 so delicious that remaining items seemed average. May be with the delicacy of tikka & platter, nihari & biryani didnt seem to be at the similar levels but at the end we were satisfied & filled with magical tastes. Waiting for my next visit.Voir plus
chicken pakoray: Liked the flavor & portion size. Would recommend trying. Lamb chops: were flavorful & tender. Portion size was good as well. Mutton Karahi: was okayish. It was actually more of Indian style than Pakistani style karahi. I like Pakistani style more. Also portion size was surprisingly small. Only for two people. Also would recommend trying the lemon soda. I'd prolly visit again to try different items from the menu.Voir plus
The best place for eating starters. Yes, if you are looking to satisfy your hunger for exotic indian flavours then go to this place & treat yourself with a plate of tandoori chicken & delicious tandoori soya chaap . Best indian starters I have ever had in montreal . If you are dining in then try resham kebab as well. They are very delicious when served hot . Avoid going there in busy hours as when the restaurant is full, the hall becomes very noisy & chaotic. I think they need to work on sound proofing the walls .Voir plus
Bought a chicken & beef kebab roll. I asked for spicy but it was bland. It wasn't the best in town, but definitely worth a try! Just hope they can elevate their flavors more :)Voir plus
Tandoori chicken, resham kebab & Chicken Biryani were really tasty whereas malai chaap & malai tikka are not good. They add a lot of cheese to it which makes it bland. Need to work on that.
Otherwise really good food.Voir plus
Food was very tasty. If you want to taste north Indian food in Montreal specially tandoor items this is the place you should definitely visit. We have ordered tandori chicken, butter naan & chicken chilli masala. All the items were very good. & the restaurant is very spacious.Overall liked itVoir plus
The food is so tasty. We had the buffet which for me personally was not expensive as we had chicken & even lamb to enjoy. The nan was soft & yummy. Definitely a place to try if you love Indian foodVoir plus
I went to the restaurant with my family (3 adults, 2 kids) for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated quite quickly which was great. Unfortunately that was the only part of the service that was good. The restaurant was pretty empty, maybe 2 other tables had people. It took the server at least 15 minutes to take our order. The food came fairly quickly & was good but after serving the appetizers no one came around for at least another 40 minutes to check in, replenish the water, ask us if we needed anything although the restaurant was not busy at all & you could easily see 3-4 employees talking & looking at their phones. Finally we called someone over, asked for more water & put in our order for our meals. The servers were horrible at cleaning the table, they didn't pick up the plates, they were serving our meals while the empty appetizer plates were still on the table & there was no room. We ourselves put all the plates together, piled them up like we were at home. The food was so over spiced & over salted, the only one dish that was good was the butter chicken. Again, no one came around to check if we needed anything etc. Dessert was a negative experience as well as not only did it take so long to order but they didn't have 3 of the options available. Unfortunately, I won't be going to the restaurant again. The servers need much better training & need to be more proactive, it ruined the whole eating out experience.
to start with the service was very bad, waiter not friendly at all
anything you ask is not available, above that food was a disaster, Maybe the y changed the chef because it was good before, we ordered Butter chicken with white rice & fish kora instead of "chicken since they don't have it", the fish was good & well prepared but the chicken butter gravy was separating & very old not as creamy as it is supposed to be, chicken inside was very hard to chew also the rice was as old as the chicken, cold with traces of burnt bottom bits from scraping the bottom of pot, also it cost me an arm n a leg 75 including tip....... food was not worth the amount I paid..
in all this shall be my last visit, I strongly recommend against going there.
Good-quality Indian food in this West-Island reto, as evidenced by the weekend crowds that quickly fill up Tandoor & Grille.
Great butter chicken, chicken tikka & shahi paneer; fluffy naans, tatsy roti & papadams; delicious samosas, pakoras & chutneys.
The down side...less than quality wait-service during the weekends; expect longer-than-usual wait-times, & the occasional mix-up or forgotten dish. Another caveat: difficult if not impossible parking as the restaurant gets busy on the typical Saturday night rush.
We ordered take out at this restaurant at least 5 times in the last year or so, especially when we had close friends visiting & we all preferred to stay in. Food has always been very good here. However, small but significant changes have occurred during the last months, & in the wrong direction. We used to love Tandoori chicken, the taste is still very good but the pieces have become smaller & smaller while prices went up. I can understand the price increase to some extent, but why decreasing the quantity? I don't know yet whether this is only happening with take out or has become a general rule. Another issue, more attention with orders is required. Last time we ordered mango chicken among other dishes, but was replaced with mixed vegetables while we paid for the chicken. We only realized when we got home. These are all things that might be remedied if there is an interest on this. Small things that may become significant when deciding where to dine.
We have been coming to the Tandoor Grille
since they moved & Karma closed.
All the food that we order is great. Chicken Pakora
on a bed of finely sliced onions & cabbage
perfectly fried as is the Lahori fish also served
on sliced cabbage & onions w/peppers.
The best Butter chicken & very well grilled Vindaloo
chicken & sizzling Seekh kebabs my favorite.
All the above dishes can be cooked to your
preference of heat or not.
We also love the Palak paneer & the Eggplant
purée. We've only tried these dishes over &
over again with the Naan bread, again among
the best always piping hot as is all the food.
We love the little copper pot presentations & the
servers are cheerful & the owner always
comes over to ask if everything is fine.
oh ya we tried the mango chicken a really good
dish & very different. If you like mango's
you have to try the Mango Lassi mmmm.
