Afficher touttaco(11) drink(5) music(5) margarita(4) sushi(4) recommend(4) servicio(4) mexican(3) complaint(3) vibe(3) mesa(3) amable(3)Music was *pumping*, at 7pm on a Monday evening. We asked them to turn it down, & they did. Slightly. All you can eat tacos offering was not available due to new management. Can't share about the food because we didn't stay to eat. They turned the music back up as we were putting on our coats. 🤦
This was my first time visiting Sinaloa Rolls (formerly La Kalaka), & I was honestly very excited because I had finally found Mexican-style sushi rolls in Montreal.
When I arrived, they told me that the weekend had been very busy & that they didn't have absolutely anything left to prepare sushi. So… I'll have to come back for that. We decided to stay anyway & ordered tacos al pastor-& I have to say, they were extremely delicious. They really exceeded my expectations. I'm leaving a photo of them because they were that good.
That said, I do have two small complaints.
The first one is about the atmosphere. I understand they're trying to recreate a Sinaloa-style vibe, & I get that the music is part of that experience, but honestly, having that music playing all the time can be a bit much. Still, I guess it's part of what they're going for.
My second complaint is about communication. I tried contacting them through Instagram, Facebook, I called by phone (no answer), left messages on TikTok, & even tried WhatsApp because I wanted to know their hours & whether I needed a reservation-& I never got a reply anywhere. I'd just recommend improving that part of customer service a bit, or being clearer & more consistent with the information they share on social media.
In the end, my complaints are pretty minor, because what really matters is the quality & taste of the food-& on that front, they did great.
The portions are extremely generous. Great Tacos, decent price. The drinks are delicious & well made. I happened to have been here while there was an event & it made the experience even better, great performer.
The only little thing is that the site is a bit overwhelming & requires updates. Which makes it a bit hard to check ongoing promotions without having to go there.
Perfect experience!
We came for the all-you-can-eat tacos (Mondays & Tuesdays for $25) & everything was amazing. Our server Yime was super friendly & patient, & the first round of tacos arrived in under five minutes! Great vibe overall, highly recommend
The food was good. Portions are huge & they put alot in one taco. Drinks are good. We had steak taco & chicken taco with margaritas & daiquiri...all good. The place is colorful & staff is friendly
Super fun place to pop in for some tacos, margs & live music! Yami was an excellent server & really helpful translating the menu!
We went for lunch today & it was a nice experience. The food is a a bit pricy, but it is enjoyable.
To drink we ordered a mojito, a pina colada & a horchata (the horchata was delicious & not expensive at all). To eat we had some nachos with guacamole, tacos, ceviche, & a gringa. All the food was good, but the best one was the gringa lechera.
The service was great & the place is beautiful.
Visually great, but taste not so great… the chips from the chips & guac were overdone & hard, the birria tacos were somehow dry, & my water glass was tainted by some white dishwasher fluid (maybe? Still unsure) not sure I'll be coming back here any time soon
We knew the meal was in trouble when the tacos arrived, the meat dry, grizzled & unappealing & the tacos devoid of any filling besides red onions. We went to Lakalaka's new location on Duluth, drawn by the sign outside advertising all-you-can-eat tacos for 25 dollars. But the tacos that arrived didn't match the ingredients of the tacos on the menu & were practically naked. Then, when we asked for a small side of guacamole, the manager refused, saying they only offer guacamole & chips for 14 dollars. There was only a choice of one beer- a 9 dollar Corona. In an area crowded with Mexican restaurants, Lakalaka doesn't deliver. & the taco offer was misleading- a ploy to get bums on seats but then offer low-grade tacos with minimal ingredients. The decor is festive & the waitress was apologetic. But Lakalaka, unfortunately, joins the array of often mediocre, touristy restaurants on Avenue Duluth.
Steak taco was absolutely delicious. Love the décore, & the music. Staff were friendly, & did their best to accommodate my guest who doesn't speak French.
OMG CHEESECAKE
Definitely coming back.
Daaaa best tacooos the party so nice good ambience & the music live amazing
Came here opening weekend, I got a margarita & the cochinita pibil tacos & was so happy with my meal. Next time I'm getting the large marg.
