Ta Chido Snack-bar mexicain serves authentic Mexican fare that many reviewers rate highly, with standout tacos and tortas such as the pulled pork torta and the torta pierna and al pastor tacos praised for flavor, freshness, and generous portions. The ambience is described as casual, lively, and eclectic with authentic touches and a small patio that enhance the dining experience. Service is mostly friendly and efficient, though a few guests note occasional delays or lapses like slow seating or missteps with glassware. Drinks and cocktails receive solid appreciation and the overall value and consistency of the food keep bringing guests back, with many calling it one of the best Mexican spots in Montreal. The place is regarded as a must-try casual destination for authentic Mexican flavors, even as some reviews mention occasional service hiccups and not every dish shining equally.
Their Sopa Azteca is absolutely amazing! The broth is so tastey & I love having all the topping on the side to dip in it. It has been my go-to delivery soup when I'm sick for like 2 years now. Please never change it! - Kim
So good! My husband & i came to this restaurant for the second time & we love it. The service is great, the prices are good, the atmosphere also! People like it! I eat a sandiwch of chicken Mole & a tamarindo juice 5 stars!
Food is amazing, the environment is great but the service is truly minimal. I've been here twice & there is always extra waiting period for ordering, taking bills, & water refills. Underperforming service is always gonna turn me off from a place.

Fantastic authentic Mexican food on Park Avenue, with a fun & eclectic decor. We've been coming for years & love their Mole Verde Taco Chido & Cubana torta. Their chillaquiles were tasty & abundant, & they have a variety of addictive tacos to choose from. The guacamole & cactus salad are great appetizers. The owner is a baker, & all breads & desserts are his creations. You must try the Mexican coffee, which is warmed by a touch of cinnamon. They've also got delicious horchata, a great drink on a summer day. This is our favourite Mexican restaurant in Montreal, & despite our many visits, have still not tried all the dishes on their menu. Definitely recommended !
Delicious food. The gluten free bread was also soft & delicious & prepared separately. celiac friendly. Drinks were cheap on a Saturday, too. Wait staff were very friendly. Charming decor. Would definitely visit again. Give them a try!
Marianna was an excellent hostess! From the beginning to the end of our dining experience, she was there to make sure we had everything we needed. She was helpful & patient in going through the menu with us. We were visiting from Toronto but were with friends who have been there before. The atmosphere was filled with vintage pieces which gave it a homey feeling. Loved the chalkboard art & day of the dead deco
Would definitely recommend going here for a quick bite that's still filling. They have gluten free options. Wish I got to try their Horchata, but they had a variety of Jarritos to choose from
I got the Cubana sandwich, & it was soft, flavourful & kept me full.
We will be back when we come to MTL again. Thank you!!
Quite tasty, not American "Mexican". They have tacos, however their specialty is Tortas, made on homemade bread & filled with very tasty food. The atmosphere is "hole in the wall". The service was great, not very crowded.
