Ramen restaurant in the heart of Montreal's chinatown. The ramen broth was ok, the soup was not as thick as what I'm used to. The noodles were like instant noodles texture. However, the beef was delicious! It wasn't the typical ramen meat but more of a Chinese style. The place felt a bit cramped, also there was no AC.View more

EDIT: Since I'm dumb - the owners were kind enough to tell me that the'expiry date' on the Soju is a sale date from SAQ, rather than an expiration date. So I've deleted that section - thank you!
Yeah .. this one didn't do it for me. Not worth the trek up the stairs.
Right from the start our server was super unfriendly. She barely looked or spoke to us the whole time.
I could typically overlook the crumby service, but the Sumo ramen was ok at best. It was all noodles, no toppings. It desperately needed more seaweed, bean sprouts, anything aside from more noodles. It even could use more broth. The broth itself was fine. The noodles were fine. It was all just OK.
I would try somewhere else. There was nothing special here, unfortunately.View more

The broth(I had chicken based Sezhuan (sp?) broth) & YES!!!! It tasted like homemade broth! The noodles were fresh made & tasty. Very good value for the price. I went there twice.View more

Feels like a hole in the wall but it's delicious! got the mushroom ramen & my partner got the beef ramen. Loved that the broth & noodles could be customized. They thoughtfully ensured my meal was vegetarian with all ingredients which I appreciated. Absolutely delicious!View more

I tried the ramen goberge. The broth was good & ingredients but I do find the ramen lacked flavour dept. I know some customers enjoy the taste & finds it flavourful enough, so it is a good ramen spot for someone who likes the taste. The service was impeccable same for atmosphereView more

I had the miso ramen & my friend had the shoyu ramen. I can't stress enough how uninteresting & bland both broths were. Very small portion of chashu, but at least it was tasty. Noodles were fine. The "ramen egg" was just a simple, plain hardboiled egg. I've tried close to 20 ramen places on the island & this is one of the very few bowls of ramen I didn't like enough to bother finishing it, extremely disappointing. Service was ok, we received our food pretty fast. The first glass of water they give you is warm to make you buy a cold beverage lol.View more

I don't understand the great rating, the broth was so salty & the whole bowl of food was super basic. I can make much better at home & I'm not even Asian. For the love of God please I repeat do not take the Takayoki! It was absolutely disgusting! I tried 1 ball & I wanted to puke. My husband ate the remaining 3 because he was hungry & told me they were not great. Once we got home, he had to rush to the bathroom to puke. I love food & I'm no way a picky eater but avoid this place at all cost.View more

The vibe & atmosphere is great. Service was average. Prices were affordable. The ramen, however, is exactly how you would expect ramen in Chinatown to taste like. You don’t get the deep umami flavour from authentic Japanese ramen shops but instead a more clear but still salty broth. Very Chinese style soup base.View more

If you're looking to try a ramen spot in Montreal, you cannot go wrong with this place. The portions are very generous & everything is so flavorful (i strongly recommend their kimchi & tonkotsu broth). Their service is also top notch ! Our waiter Johnson was amazing & made our experience very pleasant. We're looking forward to our next visit !
