Steak was prepared perfectly, the goat cheese appetizer was delightful, & the frites were prepared perfectly.View more
Food was fantastic. Service was amazing. I love being able to bring my own wine in too!View more
My favorite restaurant while visiting Montreal. My filet mignon was excellent & it was served with the most delicious mustard cream herb sauce on the side. We loved that we could bring our own bottle of wine. Our waiter was top notch. Very cool attmosphere with dimmer lighting. Highly recommend!View more
Got the steak & fries with mushroom sauce & the apple pie 🥧 It's a bring your own wine so feel free to bring your bottles. Good & courteous service. Thanks again!View more
Bring your own wine! Food is consistently good, staff knowledge is detailed.View more
We reserved our seats for 3 for dinner on a Saturday & were impressed with the swiftness we were looked after. We were reminded that it was a BYOB, which was a very nice touch. I got a msg on my phone, seconds after that our table was reserved.
While we brought our own bottle, the waitress opened our bottle & we poured our own wine from start to finish.
Atmosphere was casual, somewhat loud but not unpleasant.
Service was fast with our waitress being OK. Just the very bare minimum.
Appetizers were snail with garlic/cheese & a deep fried goat cheese were excellent.
New York streak & bavette de boeuf served medium rare were tender but a tad too cooked.
Overall, a good restaurant to go to from time to time, with BYOB.View more
Building/restaurant is kind of tired. Food overpriced. I have an allergy to dairy, but they would not make a special sauce as all are pre-made. Ambivalent service. Don't forget to get your own wine, as there is no liquor license.View more
We had been there in the past. We found to quality of the steak to be improved over years past. We like the cauliflower bite appetizers, the new york strip & fries were delicious. All steaks were cooked to the correct degree of doneness. Its really nice to be able to bring our own bottle of wine to the meal as well.View more
Food & service was fantastic. Definitely would go again. BYO wine is also a big advangtage financialy.View more
Skip the fried/baked goat cheese, but definitely try the steak & frites! & don't forget, bring your own wine! (they don't sell alcohol & you can save a few dollars by bringing the wine you love)View more
The service is great !! Bring your own wine is also nice… desserts are way too good !!!View more
I totally recommend! The place is conveniently located, we brought our own wine, the service & the food are excellent! For sure I'll keep going back!View more
Best bang for the buck; good steak with fries & it's bring your own wine. Perfect for a supper before an event or a show downtown.View more
Amazing value expertly cooked steaks. Modern steakhouses often dont include sides, this one does. The food & service top notch. Keep in mind its a byob so bring wine with you!View more
My husband & I went on Nov 22, we had the steak frites & everything was perfect. The restaurant was busy & lively (not a quiet place in case you are looking for that). Good food, good prices, we didn't have time to get wine to bring, will do that next time. We would recommend.View more
Food is great, it's bring your own wine kind of a place, it's soooo worth it.View more
This place is something we didn't expect - you can bring your own alcohol & there's no cork fees. Since we were not aware of it, water was the only fluid we were enjoying. As for the food - simply amazing. Tuna & steak were so tasty, we want to double our order.... We would recommend this place 100%, & remember - bring your own wine...View more
My new favourite steak restaurant. & you get to bring your own wine. LOVE IT!View more
Delicious steak but lacks consistency. My wife & I ordered the same piece & same cooking but received two different steaks at different cooking stages. My wife's piece was way thicker than mine & was a tad undercooked. Otherwise a very good dish. Decent size. Bring your wine & no bread on the table while waiting, you have to ask & pay for it. Outstanding service, nice staff & very friendly. We had a very nice evening. Was first time there, will go again.View more
Everything was great aside for the atmosphere. Felt kind of dull but then again it was a weekday. We will try it out again on a weekend & see if there is more of a vibe due to different clientele. Service was of great quality & professional. The food was good. The fact it is a bring your own wine restaurant makes up for what's lacking. I recommend you try it out.View more
Great steak at a good price. desserts were great. Note that you have to bring your own wine as they don't sell any liquor. There was no corking fee.View more
During the dinner the service was fine, at the end we were rushed out , forced to pay right away & get out. The place was still busy & tables were still eating, the resto was half full so not sure why they had to kick us out. They started to push us out around 8:45pm, we were still drinking our wine , it was a office Holiday gathering & was not late. One of the girls even looked frustrated when we finally were practically forced to leave, she was wiping down the table as we got up. Did not feel welcome. .. I had the surf & turf dish, the filet minon was not the same size as the regular 6 oz the others got for the main dish. Green beans on every plate, pretty boring. Fries were the best part of the meal & the mushroom sauce.
In my opinion everything was good. lamb shank was so tender & so yummy 😋😋.Especial thx 🙏to 🌺CAMILLIA served us friendly but professionally. 💜 u can bring your wine 🍷 & if U need fries 🍟 they do with pleasure.View more
We really enjoyed our experience & time at Steak-Frites. We were from the US & not aware that we could bring a bottle of wine with us to the restaurant. I think that is a great concept & the next time we're in Montreal, we will definitely bring a bottle on our next visit.
Great New York strip, cooked perfectly, sides were tasty as well. Service a little bit unhurried, although very friendly & informative. Don’t forget to bring your fave bottle of wine! Would definitely go again.View more
The food was amazing & the service was perfect. Would definitely return. Don't forget to bring your own beer/wine, they don't sell any onsite.
Steaks were cooked to everyone's liking. Average taste.
Scallops were okay, very small portion.
Surprised that there was no alcohol available but you can bring your own wine.
Service was excellent. Fast, friendly & smart! Bringing your own wine is a bonus. Homemade Frites were amazing & they are unlimited.
I prefer this place to the Keg or Baton Rouge. It's not fancy but clean & focused on quality. One small note, always make sure the menus are as clean as the restaurant.
Beautifully cooked steak, delicious duck confit & I loved beating able to bring my own wine
